Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour

In my opinion, I'd avoid this hotel, as feels empty and soulless. The staff try, but their performance falls below that of a five star hotel. The location is great but just feels backward and more like an apartment building with a reception. The restaurant and cafe are average for food and service and the small bar isn't open every night. The air-conditioning in all rooms hadn't been working for months and even after receiving a 25% discount rate (and a room with a door to a tiny balcony) the room was far to warm and stuffy to get a good nights sleep, At the end of the day it's an Accor hotel... so I really shouldn't expect too much.

I stayed for three nights and was looked after by the hotel staff team so well throughout this time. Even though the air conditioning was out of action while under repair, a quiet fan was provided in my room which was more than sufficient, especially with the cool evening air from my room balcony. The quality of the food provided in the club lounge was outstanding (as was the breakfast in the restaurant), and the hotel is to be highly praised for this. It was great to be in a hotel that understands Club lounges are meant to be a premium experience and the attention to detail was noticed and valued by me. Chef responsible for the club dining should be provided with positive feedback for this - it was first class. I will definitely be back. My stay was easy, no request was too much trouble and I was in comfortable surroundings that are convenient to the rest of Auckland city centre.

I was very surprised by the quality and services that the room had, in addition to the view and the location...the guys at reception were also very attentive...it is the best option in Auckland for that price...just steps from the city. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to return

Great staff very helpful made great suggestions for restaurants to visit around the Hotel. Breakfast was great good selection of everything, Room had a great layout bed was very comfortable had a good restful sleep so was refreshed for the day ahead.

Our room was luxurious/lovely with a patio, view, and a couch. It was exceptionally clean. The hotel staff was gracious and very helpful. We used the valet parking with no trouble. While there was dining there, we ate out for every meal while we were exploring the city.
