Exceptional service, experience, and amenities!
This property is obsessed with guest experience (in a good way!) and has the amenities to support that objective. Flawless decor, customer service, and food/beverage offerings compliment a truly unique immersive experience. Situated within walking distance of many shops and restaurants, this hotel stands out as something really special. Quiet rooms, comfortable beds, motorized shades, and an onsite spa contribute to a wonderful guest experience. Highly recommend!

Nice Hotel but stop with the 4% Health and Wellness Surcharges to pay for your employees health insurance.. ENOUGH!
Nice hotel good location but no more on the health and wellness surcharge… they have that on everywhere and it’s to help pay for their employees health insurance.. which of course THEY should pay for.. ask for it to be taken off.. the massages are great btw but my massage therapist was cold as ice and she finished 10 minutes early.. bummer when you are paying $330 for a 90 minute massage!

First Date!
The Proper never disappoints. Thanks to Giulio for making it a night to remember! The service, food, drinks, hospitality is always first class. We had tried for a week to get a reservation at Uchiba. It only took Giulio five minutes to get one for us. Thank you for a wonderful time and we cant wait to come back!

Austin Proper is a special place, and their service is fantastic. From the moment I arrived, an individual named, Giulio was attentive, warm, and genuinely committed to ensuring a memorable experience. He consistently checked in to make sure everything was to my liking and went out of his way to offer thoughtful recommendations that truly enhanced my stay. His knowledge of local spots was spot-on, and it felt like having a personal concierge dedicated to my experience. It’s rare to encounter someone so passionate about guest satisfaction, and Giulio exceeded all expectations. If you’re lucky enough to connect with Giulio, you’re in for an unforgettable stay! Thanksgiving stay
Great location for the hotel. Upgraded double room - spacious, clean and quiet. Great shower. Bathroom lacking in worktop space which was a little strange as it was a decent sized room. Good bar area on ground floor with a good selection of drinks and fast friendly service. Drawbacks - expensive (like a lot of hotels in downtown Austin) for valet parking. Breakfast options were ok, service was a bit hit and miss. Could do better was the feeling. Overall, good hotel, comfortable stay.
