About the Hotel
Hotel Magdalena is a hotel project from Austin’s acclaimed Bunkhouse in collaboration with renowned architecture firm Lake | Flato, located on Music Lane in the popular South Congress neighborhood of Austin. At 89 rooms, it is Bunkhouse’s largest hotel to date, and features four new, but distinct, buildings connected by exposed elevated walkways and courtyards, creating a treehouse feel inside the grounds. The property sits at varying elevations, an homage to the slopes of Barton Springs, and the lush grounds are planted with native Texas species including Bigtooth Maples, Redbuds, Meyer Lemon Trees, Yaupon Holly, and Little Gem Magnolia.

Great spot for a romantic, urban getaway
We stayed in room 427. It had an amazing view of downtown, a perfect screened-in balcony, and easy access to the restaurant. The style of the hotel is fun and modern with an Austin-centric twist. The location is hard to beat if you are visiting Austin and want excellent food, good shopping, and a lively vibe. The service was great, Baker made us feel right at home. The parking is the only semi negative. It is difficult to do anything other than use their moderately priced valet. If you are staying for a few days and don’t need access to your car, is probably works out better.

Not great
Not the best experience due to elevators and customer service. Please read my review directly to your hotel for what my family and I experienced here the weekend of our stay. It was a huge let down. Hope they can work on these issues as this location and ambiance is incredible.

Only the groovy are worthy
The grooviest vibes possible for a hotel. 10/10. The food was great and the staff friendly. The location is perfect for walking around Austin. You're not in the thick of the skyscrapers but you're not out in the boonies either. Just right. The kind of place you would find Matthew McConaughey living in or hanging out at.

Best hotel
I love this hotel so much. The staff is great and it’s very clean. The location could not be better. The restaurant has delicious food and the beds, specifically the pillows, are so comfortable. The pool was heated and they have amazing toiletries to use.
