Hotel Magdalena is a hotel project from Austin’s acclaimed Bunkhouse in collaboration with renowned architecture firm Lake | Flato, located on Music Lane in the popular South Congress neighborhood of Austin. At 89 rooms, it is Bunkhouse’s largest hotel to date, and features four new, but distinct, buildings connected by exposed elevated walkways and courtyards, creating a treehouse feel inside the grounds. The property sits at varying elevations, an homage to the slopes of Barton Springs, and the lush grounds are planted with native Texas species including Bigtooth Maples, Redbuds, Meyer Lemon Trees, Yaupon Holly, and Little Gem Magnolia.

I love this hotel so much. The staff is great and it’s very clean. The location could not be better. The restaurant has delicious food and the beds, specifically the pillows, are so comfortable. The pool was heated and they have amazing toiletries to use.

This was a staycation with my girlfriend. Just wanted to get away in downtown Austin that had cool places in walking distance to go for food and shops. The hotel room was great. Nice, right size. We stayed in a tree house studio. Bed was comfy, the rain shower was really nice, overall great room for what we were looking for. Room service was from the Summer House restaurant attached to the hotel. Food was good. Great space overall tucked into a busy part of Austin.

Warm, clean, hospitable hotel with a great location. Fun and hip decor that welcomes you to Austin. The front desk staff are professionals and take care of every detail. The courtyard is a lovely and inviting place to hang out and sip coffee on a beautiful Austin morning. We will be back!

Great set up for the baby shower! Hotel Staff was great and accommodating. Steven from valet was phenomenal, remaining attentive and observant as chaos unfolded! Overall 10/10. Will definitely be back to checkout SummerHouse Soon!!!!!

This missed the mark. Pretty property, absolutely abysmal trying to get to your room when the floors aren't connected and the elevators don't work. Hauling luggage around immediately after arrival on an 80-degree day in Feb. was not enjoyable. Was never shown or told how to get to my room (and it doesn't appear on any signage, the signs for third floor stop at 312, I was in 311). Hopping a fence after the pool is closed to get to my room at 10:15 p.m. is unacceptable.
