I never write terrible reviews because generally I just feel blessed to be able to vacation in beautiful spots, but we spent a fortune to do a July 4th staycation and it was awful from start to finish! I felt like we were on a Carnival cruise. The valet had an hour wait, no bellmen were available for our luggage, we spent twenty minutes (twice) in the check in line, and Tidal Cove was so booked beyond capacity that no chairs were available and lines were long. Then the hotel staff was so rude to us when we just tried to watch fireworks. We had issues with hot water in our room and despite getting the Amex platinum 4pm checkout our room keys were turned off early. (The only highlight was that the waiters at Corsair and Bourbon Steak were wonderful, as was the doorman in the front and bartender at Tidal Cove).

Dangerous bathroom door stops and no care from the management team if people get hurt. Poor customer service and expect better from Marriott. Security team only interested in complying with their paperwork , but not caring for their guests. Very poor communication too.

Made for meetings, families (with an impressive water park and golf), the JW Marriott Turnberry is a lovely property with many amenities. Pros: Location - in between the big cities, Aventura is a calm and safe spot convenient to both MIA and FLL. Fitness Options - walking trails circle the property, they've an expansive gym, great classes (I took Bosu Burn and the teacher was excellent!), multiple pools, golf and more. Food - I rarely write home about conference center food and these lunches were really impressive. They did a great job of labeling and catering to the vegan and vegetarian crowd, which not all hotels do well. We had healthy juice and smoothie options at every break (that tasted good!) and their shrimp and tuna salad options at lunch were fantastic. We had a lovely poolside dinner that featured specialties from each restaurant's kitchen to kick start the event, and everything was delicious. Really impressive food! Room Types: They've plenty of room types to accommodate families and upgrades. Service: Everywhere, it was consistently good. Specifically, the staff at the pool was incredible. So helpful, so professional, yet friendly, Evan and his team really impressed me! Cons: Group Check-ins: They should do satellite check-ins or staff up when the groups check-in. It was slow and the lines were long and that personal was loosing their smiles. Signage / Maps: Multiple times I had to double check where the heck I was and where I meant to be! There is signage but it's a bit sparce and perhaps at check-in they might suggest you take a picture of a property map. It's a very large property and very easy to be late to meetings! Construction: It is what it is, but I can't give 5 stars when 2 out of 3 elevator shafts were down (only my tower - I cannot speak to the other towers). :(

JW Marriott Turnberry does not recognize Marriott Loyalty Members. I requested free breakfast for my Titanium welcome gift. While at breakfast I informed the waiter our breakfast should be at no cost, and he informed me, "I don't handle waiving the breakfast costs, at JW Turnberry we charge you for the full breakfast, and then on the backend before you check out, your breakfast costs will be waived/credited" It didnt sound normal to me but I obliged, didnt want to think too much of it since I am on vacation. Push come to shove, it didn't get waived and now I am left days later trying to get a straight answer from the hotel. I emailed Jenifer Espinoza from Guest Experience a couple days ago and have not received a response back. They also add a 20% mandatory tip on top of the total bill of unwaived breakfast. To also add insult, there is another $54 dollar charge JW has charged me days later and I am trying to figure out what that is for (was not on my final invoice). The hotel is littered with other small issues, I was here to celebrate a birthday for my 8 year old daughter, I emailed the hotel multiple times prior to my visit, dropped off ballons a day earlier to be put into my room before check in and nothing was handled properly. When we arrived 5 hours after my room was ready, the balloons were still in concierge. Do not expect Hospitality at this hotel, when you mention issues, do not expect a response from this hotel, and as a loyalty member do not expect to be upgraded or even placed in a nice room for a special occasion. After reserving a suite, we had the pleasure to be put in a 1st floor suite right next to the loading dock so we could watch the truck deliveries from our balcony throughout our stay.. Last but not least, they don't honor late checkout, they will tell you its based on availability since they are a resort and they are fully booked, it funny they say that but then when you go on the app, all their rooms and suites are available

I met with a bartender at the Casa pool with all of my friends. We had a reunion and it was such a lovely time. This bartender Evan and his partner. Luis were so helpful and thoughtful, bringing our drinks and assisting us and having a good time. We will come back to this property in the future and it was very very very good. Make sure that you come and see that pool the adult pool at the JW Turnberry in, Aventura, Florida Luis and Barre they will take great care of You
