Good points as I do give credit where it’s due, the room had a beautiful view of the beach, clean private pool and very spacious and had everything we needed with two housekeeping visits a day to replenish items. We ate in the Asian restaurant on first night food was nice and tasty. Same with the international restaurant food was nice. Overall site of hotel was nice. Although I would not consider this to be a 5* hotel as the customer service is not the level of a 5* hotel. It all started before I arrived we booked on a special room rate whereby the terms was pay for 1 night upfront to guarantee the booking which we paid and also booked a transfer from airport to hotel when we arrived. The next day I started receiving emails requesting payment for the rest of the balance felt pressured and should not have received these emails. Upon emailing them they assured me to ignore and I could settle upon arrival on site as per terms and also asked for my specific flight details for transfer. Further Issues started to arise when our flight arrived and we could not see in the arrivals area a driver holding up my name we waited for a little bearing in mind I gave all my details to the hotel for the transfer I booked. I then called them to ask the status of the transfer as we could not see them he said I cannot call you back as I had a UK phone number and to call them back in 15 mins, I did he then said the driver said he was there and I should see him I could not, then was told after being on hold to get my own taxi and pay as they actually did not turn up with the reception staff laughing while telling me this did not appreciate this at all. So instead I requested to just have the transfer at the end to take us back not a refund which took a while for someone to actually confirm this was booked and sorted. In our room our toilet had a blockage and it took over 3 hrs and multiple calls to resolve we just needed a plunger why did it take so long? We decided to get in room dining service (food turned up nice and hot and was tasty) we were told at check in when finished to call to get our plates picked up to not encourage pests, we did as instructed and got told the staff was too busy at dinner service to pick it up when we phoned so leave it outside and was shocked to find it’s still sitting there at 11am the next morning! The main international restaurant which has the same kitchen as the Asian restaurant was slow to get food out just feel not enough staff. Why cannot this hotel have a main restaurant run as a buffet would be better value and service for guests. There was a buffet on our first night but it was an extra charge on top of the half board we paid. This is a nice hotel but could be even better if staff paid more attention to customer service reflecting the price tag they charge.
