About the Hotel

In the fashion of a traditional Balinese village â€" with the addition of modern luxuries, of course â€" the tranquil Alila Ubud resort helps to center mind, body and spirit. Its stunning architecture captures contemporary design philosophy while incorporating traditional elements of style. Cradled along the banks of the Ayung River within lush Balinese foothills, guests retreat into a collection of the resort's chic rooms and freestanding, stilt-supported villas. The juxtaposition of contrasting elements creates a uniquely timeless feel, with contemporary concrete appointments beneath conventional thatched roofs, or modern terrazzo tiles beside aged and crushed rock. Expect all the lavish comforts of an exclusive resort, like private terraces and clandestine courtyards, open-air bathrooms and airy showers, private plunge pools and secluded sundecks, to name a few.

Reviews for Alila Ubud

Amazing service in beautifully serene setting

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The staff are wonderful at Alila Ubud. Beautiful tranquil setting in forest only a 30min shuttle bus away from Ubud. Great food and we loved the free mosquito repellent provided by hotel, which really worked. The grounds are stunning and plenty of sun beds around the pool. Highly recommend.

Where to start - we left a previous hotel in Ubud due to the poor accommodation we were in! So our agent booked us our remaining nights at the Alila and thank goodness he did!! What an absolutely stunning resort 🙌 The staff are some of the most special amazing people we have met and I cannot praise them enough! Nothing is too much trouble for them they are just fantastic The head chef Joni - well wow what a star - he made our breakfasts so memorable- I would like to take him home 🥰 The staff truly just want everyone to be happy and leave with amazing memories - which is what we will certainly be doing and we will definitely be back!! I do not want to leave! The food, the rooms and the scenery are just spectacular!!! We wish we were staying longer!

Your Private Sanctuary at One Bedroom Forest Edge Villa in Alila Ubud

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Stepping into Alila Ubud felt like entering a serene sanctuary, a world away from the everyday. The open-air lobby, with its breathtaking views cascading down the lush hillside, immediately instilled a sense of tranquility. The gentle sounds of nature, the fragrant tropical air, and the warm Balinese hospitality created an atmosphere of profound peace. My gaze was instantly drawn to the iconic outdoor infinity pool, seemingly suspended over the verdant valley. Its shimmering turquoise waters beckoned, promising an unparalleled immersion in nature. The seamless blend of the resort's architecture with the surrounding landscape was remarkable, a testament to thoughtful design that embraced the natural beauty of Ubud. My One Bedroom Forest Edge Villa at Alila Ubud was an absolute sanctuary, a breathtaking immersion into Bali's natural beauty. Perched perfectly on the forest's fringe, the sheer size of the villa, especially the expansive terrace, was immediately impressive. Waking up to the unbeatable sunrise views painting the lush foliage in golden hues was a daily spectacle, enjoyed from the comfort of my outdoor living and dining area. Whether I was lounging with a book, enjoying a private meal al fresco, or simply soaking in the tranquil atmosphere, the villa truly felt like an extension of the surrounding jungle. The wraparound views from the bathtub were a particular highlight, allowing for blissful soaks completely enveloped by the vibrant greenery. The seamless integration of indoor and outdoor spaces fostered a deep connection with nature, creating a sense of peace and privacy. This villa was more than just accommodation; it was an experience, a luxurious embrace of Ubud's enchanting landscape.

Ubud luxury!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

From the minute we arrived to the minute we left we loved every minute of staying at this hotel. We were upgraded on arrival and the room was wonderful, we had a view of the pool and the valley and of course all the monkeys. We had an outside bathroom which was such an amazing experience- just don't shower too late or you'll be joined by the cast of a bugs life! Hahaha! The staff at the hotel are part of the charm they couldn't do enough for us whilst we were there and sent many things to our room when my husband felt unwell. They cooked a special plain meal and didn't charge for the hassle. The rooms are stunning, the hotel itself is amazing. The only thing I'd advise is it isn't accessible friendly- not the place for anyone who has difficulty with stairs and just beware of the cheeky monkeys! One managed to get in our room at one point and take some food.
