Conrad Bali is AMAZING!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Conrad Bali is an amazing resort with exceptional customer service. Nanta, my Conrad Curator, assisted me with planning tours with private drivers. If you have early morning tours, you can request a breakfast box. I was surprised to receive an ocean view upgrade upon check-in, and chocolate cake and a floral design on my bed for my 40th birthday. The Suku restaurant had a good, well assorted breakfast buffet and the dinner there was delicious too. Azure, the pool bar, provided great drinks and food, as well. There’s a convenient medical clinic onsite. I highly recommend this resort.

Lovely Resort for A Family Vacation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Lovely resort for a family vacation. Staff was friendly and service was excellent. Was not too keen on the complimentary photo session with a professional photographer but it gave us some wonderful photo memories of our trip. Strongly recommend doing the photography session.

Very nice Hotel that absolutely can be recommended for quiet Bali Holiday in Bali.

A very clean Hotel with incredibly friendly staff. We immediately feel at home. Many thanks to Nanta, who looked after us so well during our stay. The food in the hotel is also very good, but there are also restaurants outside the hotel complex within walking distance. Thank you for the wonderful stay. ❤️

Disappointing stay. No “wow” factor = no desire to return.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

The title kind of sums up our stay at the Conrad Bali last month. It wasn’t a horrible stay by any means but compared to the other hotels we stayed at, the Conrad was just a miss for us and we don’t feel that we want to return again. The issues aren’t major but for a Conrad property in SE Asia, this stay was pretty disappointing. It was only a one day stay, but a paid stay and not an award stay. Check in went fine and our room was upgraded to Room 2211, an ocean front/view king on the second floor in front of the main pool. We asked if there were any suite upgrades available, which we understand are subject to availability. They said they only had a suite with two twins so we decided to stay with the regular ocean view king. We forgot to ask for a non-connecting room and of course the room assigned was a connecting type room. The connecting lock off double doors unfortunately have a pretty large gap at the bottom and the guests in the room next door were pretty loud and we could hear them talking; so we ended up placing some of the towels at the bottom to muffle the sounds. The king bed in the room had a slight gap in the middle and we realized that it was larger than a king bed and was actually two twin beds pushed together. Maybe we should have taken the suite with two twin beds! The other issue was that the sheets and duvet didn’t smell freshly laundered. It had that musty smell from damp laundry that was not dried properly. But by the time we discovered this it was already late night time and we had already showered and were tired. We didn’t feel like packing up and moving rooms. The other issue is that the Conrad Club Lounge’s service was also mixed. We went to Afternoon tea (3 to 5 pm) and a lounge staff employee asked us what drinks we wanted. We were served our juices and the Afternoon tea tray, which was nice. Afterwards, we left to walk around the resort and outside for a while and returned when the evening appetizers started. As we sat down, a lounge employee asked what we wanted to drink and returned with our soft drinks and an Afternoon tea tray. We were puzzled as to why we were the only guests to get (another, since we already had one during Afternoon Tea time) the Afternoon Tea tray when all the other guests were getting the evening canapes, but didn’t say anything to the lounge attendant. Then for the 45 minutes we were there, we kind of felt ignored because we were never approached again to ask if we wanted any drink refills or maybe the evening canapes instead of the Afternoon tea tray? We noticed the other guests being offered drink refills and more canapes, so not sure what was going on. And yes, we were the only guests that got an Afternoon Tea tray in the evening. Pretty odd. As we were getting ready to get up and leave, a lounge employee approached us and asked if we wanted anything else to drink. We asked him about the canapes and he seemed surprised that we didn’t get any and did also seem surprised to see the Afternoon Tea tray. He brought us fresh drinks and some canapes at least. We returned to our room later only to discover the musty smelling sheets but dealt with it since it was late. Breakfast in the main restaurant is provided for Diamond members, similar to Marriott and Hyatt hotels elite members. A very good assortment of fresh fruits, breads, typical breakfast fare, as well as specialty Indonesian, Indian, Asian foods were available. Service in the main restaurant was fine. However, the service level just seemed so inconsistent and disappointing at this Conrad property. Husband travels for work and has Marriott Lifetime Titanium, Hyatt Globalist and Hilton Diamond status. Unfortunately this Conrad Bali had no “wow” factor like we get at other SE Asia properties like the St. Regis, Luxury properties, Le Meridien, Marriott, JW, Grand Hyatts, other Conrads or even some Hilton properties. We opted not to take advantage of the Conrad Bali’s late checkout and wanted to move out quickly and on to our next hotel. We do appreciate the friendly and professional check in and also at the check out that Ada got us a Conrad monkey to give to our daughter. The restaurant, doormen, and housekeeping staff were also very nice and provided great service. While the employees were generally polite and nice, the inconsistent service and the other issues were disappointing for a paid stay. This makes us not want to return to the Bali Conrad especially when there are so many other choices to stay.
