We were not staying at the hotel as we live in Bali, but rather I had chosen the Agung Terrace Indonesia food restaurant for my Indonesian wife's birthday dinner. The grounds and architecture are impressive. The service was absolutely impeccable, the best I have experienced in Bali. Those aspect I would score 5 out of 5. The reason for the 3 star rating was the food itself was quite disappointing. I had the tasing menu which FYI was a different tasting menu than is presented on their website. The preparation was beautiful but many of the offerings were unbalanced either by an overuse of coconut oil ,or a delicate food item with a heavy sauce with an almost raw spice flavor aspect. The scallop offering was over salted and the poached lobster offering was overcook. There was a lack of precision which is very important on a tasting menu where the portions are quite small. The tasting menu included 2 desserts both of which were so sweet we could not eat them. My wife had chosen the grilled lobster over the tasting menu which was beautifully served and well prepared and she sampled all of the tasting menu items.. So while we had a lovely evening and were very impressed by the place the bar service and the staff, the food preparation itself was IMO a 2 out of 5 for the tasting menu . We were mused by how the attention the chef had put on the visual presentation had taken precedent over the taste of the food itself. One additional note - my wife loves sambal and had requested it on the side for her grilled lobster. While far too hot for my western palate, I seriously wonder how they eat it? she found it to be some of the best sambal she has ever had. We will return and try the Mediterranean restaurant as I will assume it is a different chef. Perhaps I should ask that question ?

We stayed 3 nights on our honeymoon in June. We really loved our time and it truly felt like a paradise, but we did write some feedback below as we felt the room and dinner offering were a little disappointing for the price point. Some positives: The hotel and grounds are stunning and ideal for a honeymoon. Our room (duplex) was nice and we really enjoyed the warm check in process. Staff were very professional and approachable, clearly working very hard to maintain the standard and ambiance of the hotel which we could feel! The manager who welcomed us was fantastic (so sorry we forgot his name). We loved the breakfast menu and the ladies serving the food were very friendly. The cocktails overall were delicious, especially at Jati bar. We did really like the food at the Nusuntra buffet night, and Chef Wayan is lovely. The pool & spa was fantastic (perhaps an option for a little light at night would be good for an evening jacuzzi?) Some negatives: For the price though, we do feel the rooms need a refresh as they were very outdated and wear and tear was starting to show, particularly in the shower, which refused to drain each time for some time so we had to keep putting towels down. We don’t think the room was worth the price compared to Padma Ubud and Oberoi Lombok. Dinner surprisingly left something to be desired as there were very limited food options available at both the pool cafe and the restaurant, and we really feel this needs to be improved on. In room dining was delicious but honestly very slow which was a bit disappointing. We do feel that staff at the Riverside Pool were sometimes quite stretched and took a while to bring things out. Activities: We did the picnic lunch experience and we loved this so much. Ari and Chef Ung were so amazing and such professionals- we were really impressed and the food was very delicious. We would like to pass our particular thanks to Ari, who is such a lovely person and we enjoyed talking to him. He also went back to the hotel to get mosquito repellant during the experience. Honeymoon specific: We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne and a cake in our room, lowers in the bath & a little presentation on the bed - thanks to the team and to Ari as well for a warm welcome in the room. The FS team cleaned my wife's wedding shoes after a photoshoot (complimentary) which was also nice. Overall: We loved the ambiance in the main areas, and how quiet the whole hotel was, it felt like a true paradise. Thank you to the excellent staff! We would definitely love to return if there were more dinner options and the rooms a bit refreshed.

This hotel knows how to create memorable experiences. The concierge team are like local encyclopedias, offering fantastic recommendations for everything from restaurants to hidden gems in the area. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully laid out, with views that make you want to stay in. The lobby bar became our favorite spot

Adventure seekers will fall in love with this unique hotel. The staff are passionate outdoor enthusiasts who can guide you to hidden local gems. The rooms are comfortable and practical, perfect for resting up after a day of exploration. But the real star is the location - surrounded by natural beauty and endless opportunities for hiking, biking, and water

Our family of four stayed for four nights in a family suite at the Four Seasons Sayan, and I can say without a doubt that the hotel made our trip unforgettable. The grounds were stunning—lush, elegant, and peaceful. We were thoroughly impressed by the hotel’s design and architecture, which felt both unique and classy. While a few areas could use a bit of a refresh (such as the bathrooms), I would never trade this for a brand-new, soulless, generic hotel. The food was exceptional! I’ve fallen in love with Balinese cuisine. Breakfast, in particular, was a highlight: fresh, flavorful, and offering a wide variety of dishes. Although it’s à la carte, it’s all-you-can-eat, which was perfect for us. The best part of our stay, however, was the service. It was simply on another level—friendly, prompt, and gracious, without ever feeling overbearing. The staff anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. We enjoyed the rafting excursion, but the highlight of our trip was the “Can You Keep a Secret” tour. It gave us a deeper understanding of the local culture, which made us appreciate Bali even more. We can’t wait to return!
