About the Hotel

There are four Komaneka properties in Ubud alone – choose Komaneka at Rasa Sayang if you want an immersion in the delightfully bohemian town of Ubud without sacrificing the appeal of a rainforest retreat in the Balinese countryside. The landscaping at Rasa Sayang is spectacular, and it cordons off the resort into areas that feel spacious and private. Rich, jewel-toned Balinese tapestries embellish bedrooms dressed in marble and honey-colored wood, while the pool shimmers in hues of the Indian Ocean. Plan to delve into local culture through the daily roster of complimentary activities, including woodcarving and coconut leaf crafts.

Rainforest theme hotel with friendly staffs

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and our whole experience staying here was impeccable. Upon our arrival, the hotel staff took the initiative to come out and help us open our car door and unload our luggage. We were seated down comfortably in a sofa while waiting for check in and offered coconut water refreshment and a cold towel. The male staff who checked us in (can't remember his name) took great care of us and showed us to our room and explained how our in-room facilities worked. We were also served several welcome snacks (we enjoyed the cookies!). The hotel had a beautiful rainforest theme. The room was clean and large. The bathroom was also large and everything that we needed was provided. There was a smart tv in the room allowing us to log into and watch Netflix. Housekeeping does a great job. There are a few mosquitoes though given this is Ubud so bring along some mosquito repellent. The hotel also provides mosquito repellent if you forgot to bring yours. The breakfast spread itself was alright. Restaurant staffs were friendly and helpful. The hotel was situated on Monkey forest street so there were many nice restaurants, shopping streets and cafes just nearby. There is a convenience store in front of the hotel just across the street. Checkout was easy and the same male staff who checked us in helped us to carry our luggage to our vehicle and help us load it up. Kudos to him for his care and excellent services.

Lovely and Centrally located hotel in Ubud

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

I traveled to Bali with my friend to celebrate out October B~days. Our first hotel was the Komaneka @ Rasa Sayang. I am attaching my friends review for this hotel below. Friends that go to Bali often for business warned us not to stay directly in the center of Ubud.....Do to it's chaotic nature. This hotel sits just off of the main Monkey Forest Rd, but it was very quite and absolutely lovely. The pool is set in a tiny tropical forest, stream and ravine that separates it from the neighboring street JL Bisma. I did not mind the craziness of Monkey forest Rd. It is very central and easy to walk most places to shop and eat. We did not rent motor bikes, but you can easily get a ride in person (car or motorbike) on the GRAB or GOJEK APPs. I would stay here again. My friend review: The property was beautiful & clean. Centrally located in the heart of Ubud. Surprisingly quiet. Big rooms & beautiful pool. Delicious breakfast included with room. Our time in Ubud was wonderful starting with our driver, a kind and very reliable guy who picked us up at the airport and brought us to the Komaneka. Another day he returned to the hotel and we spent the day sightseeing in his airconditioned car. During a third excursion, Nyoman drove us to the ferry in Padang Bai where we boarded a boat to Gili Air. He can provide suggestions or follow your itinerary. We highly recommend Nyoman Parwata; he can be reached on What's App, +62 812-3966-3324.

Superb!!

Such a beautiful place to stay in the heart of Monkey Forest Rd, Ubud. Central to everything and yet so peaceful and quiet as its stepped back from the road, so the only sounds you hear are those of the forest. From the moment of arrival, the wonderful staff make you feel so welcome. The service is absolutely outstanding at all times. The rooms are beautiful, peaceful and made up every morning, they also have a jar of freshly baked cookies, fresh fruit, chocolate and bottles of water each day, there's also a fridge. The beds are so comfortable and clean. The large bathroom has a great shower, pure white bath towels and bathrobe, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and hairdryer! The attention to detail is not amiss here, including cotton buds and sewing kit! There's also a safe in the room. The location is perfect. Just step outside to the road and you are surrounded by shops and restaurants and a short walk to the Monkey Forest, Ubud Palace and markets, yet you don't hear a thing. The hotel and pool is set well back from the road and is surrounded by lush greenery, it really is picture postcard! The pool is lovely and clean and there were always sun loungers with fresh white towels available throughout the day. The breakfast buffet has plenty of choice and everything is always very fresh and delicious with good coffee. Complimentary afternoon tea is served at the restaurant or by the pool, and the cakes are amazing! A huge thank you to all of the staff at Komaneka Rasa Sayang for such a blissful stay, I was very sad to leave.

Fantastic option in Ubud

Set on the main road, which is busy and loud, this hotel is a delightful relaxing option for you to stay. It's a mid sized, locally run hotel where the staff are instantly friendly and helpful..They remember your names and provide top level service. Special mention to Tari in the resaraunt, she has such a great smiley personality and went above and beyond to make our experience greater. Thank you Tari. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Hidden Gem in Ubud

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

This 4 star hotel is a hidden gem and was so much more than what we'd expected. Tucked in off the road we arrived in a smallish driveway and boutique open air foyer and we thought the hotel was small. However, behind the foyer are beautiful rooms spread around a garden courtyard over 4 storeys, leading to an open air restaurant overlooking the infinity pool and bar. The restaurant and pool also overlook an adjoining resort and with all the trees and lush greenery, the whole place is so serene and relaxing. We really did feel like these 4 days of our holiday were 'Eat Pray Love' and I loved the free daily yoga outside under the trees or up on the roof top with a beautiful view (they bring in local yoga teachers who have different styles, which was fun). Our room on the second top floor was an even bigger surprise. It was so spacious with a massive bathroom, lounge area and huge balcony overlooking the rooftops and trees (and this was the deluxe twin - not the highest level). There were so many little thoughtful touches - petals on the bed, somewhere to put your jewellery, sustainable toiletries replenished daily, a lovely basket to carry towels etc. to the pool or go shopping, woven slippers, a complimentary tray of snack like a jar of local biscuits fill each day, local chocolate bars, 2 tubes of chips), free local activities each day, multi-adaptor, loofah, natural insect repellent and room spray, robes, arm chair and couch, desk, movie channels and Netflix. The huge bathroom had a separate toilet, closet, drawers for shoes, shower, double sink and a massive stand alone bath next to the glass wall. Very good selection for breakfast - fresh fruits, cereals, egg station, local sweets, The Monkey Forest Elizabeth Gilbert writes about is at the end of the road, and Cafe Wayan, which is also mentioned in the book is just a few doors up the road (lovely atmosphere for meals and has the best cooking school out the back). Along the Jalan Monkey Forest are many great cafes (3 Monkeys, Natch Ubud, Liap Liap) Jungle Gold chocolate shop just off the main road), bars and shops (Filthy Gorgeous silver jewellery shop lovely, so is Eddy Silver). The market is within a short distance, as is the Water Palace, not to be missed. The location was very central. Many thanks to Jehun, Agus, Septi, Palguna, Tari and Yuli who remembered our names from the very first day and were always friendly and interested in how we were. They always greeted us as if we were coming home - we felt so cared for, and all of the staff seemed very dedicated and connected to the hotel as if it was their own. We loved their attention to detail, pride in maintaining and cleaning, and their commitment to sustainability and locals e.g. bringing in local dancers from the dance school to give them work, same with yoga teachers. We enjoyed the dinner and dance show they arranged on one of the nights - felt very localised instead of commercial. Valeria Spa just up the road was clean, professional and quite popular, as well as cheap for massages and other treatments. We also went to Luvena Spa across the road. We booked our airport driver (also a tour guide) Arya for a day and tailored sightseeing to our interests (good English) - rice terraces, coffee plantation, temples, Tengenungan Waterfall, suckling pig restaurant for lunch, countryside. Whatapp - +62 810-2920-4416 NB: Don't leave anything out on the balcony as the monkeys might get into it.
