About the Hotel

Located in the small northern village of Kedewatan, Komaneka at Tanggayuda is a sanctuary of just four suites and 16 villas nestled into the countryside. Rice terraces tumble into the Oon River, and above it all, Balinese pavilions with high-pitched roofs offer a mix of traditional and ultra-modern comforts. Soak in a bathtub carved from volcanic stone surrounded by moss-covered walls and carved Hindu deities, then retire to a new-release movie on your villa’s Apple TV. There’s also a small art gallery onsite, an incarnation to Komaneka’s dedication to preserving local culture.

Excellent service and property

Our experience was absolutely excellent. The property is stunning and beautifully blends traditional Balinese style with Western influences. The team here works tirelessly to ensure your stay is truly memorable. A few members of our family are vegetarian, and the staff went above and beyond to prepare delicious meals that catered perfectly to their needs. Additionally, for my son's birthday, they made the celebration incredibly special on very short notice, which we deeply appreciated. There were so many staff members who worked hard to make us feel comfortable, and while it wouldn't be fair to single out individuals by name, I want to acknowledge that each and every one of them contributed significantly to our wonderful stay. We couldn’t recommend this place more highly!

Superb in every way

Stayed here for 4 nights in Dec 2024 with my family. We booked two Pool Villas. It was low season in Bali, so the hotel was quiet and we hardly saw the other guests. In any case, the grounds are sprawling so I wouldn’t imagine the hotel would seem crowded at anytime. This is an excellent hotel, the rooms and the grounds are lovely. Service was impeccable throughout the hotel. The room itself was clean, the bed and linen was very comfortable, and they provided numerous glass bottles of water to keep you hydrated. The bathroom had a large stone bathtub in addition to a large shower. We had breakfasts and one dinner at the hotel restaurant. Food was very good in taste and value. The hotel is located outside the centre of Ubud, and the hotel offers regular free shuttles. The ride takes 20-40 minutes, depending on traffic. If you are the sort who prefers city-bustle and shopping, this may not be your best choice of hotel. But if your preference is more towards quiet elegance, expansive valley views and impeccable service, this hotel is an easy recommendation.

Perfect stay

We enjoyed three nights here during our tour of Bali. The hotel had everything we could have asked for. It was our golden wedding and the room was decorated so beautifully. The hotel staff were kind and very friendly. The restaurant was excellent; both service and food. Complimentary afternoon tea was very enjoyable too.

Great hotel, the rooms and the grounds are lovely. The service was very good and the staff were very helpful. The restaurant was very good they served a variation of dishes at very reasonable prices we chose to eat there every night. The hotel is outside of the centre but they have a shuttle bus that runs regularly and takes about 30 minutes. If you’re looking for quality accommodation in a quiet area I wouldn’t hesitate to reccomend.

Most incredible hotel and experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

This hotel is amongst the best I have ever stayed in. We were a little nervous given our expectations that this was a serene honeymooners hotel and we were turning up with 2 noisy boys + a baby. However our concerns were allayed by both the staff and the space. There is enough room for your encounters with other guests to be minimal and pleasant. The staff are truly exceptional - not just ensuring that you have a pleasant stay but also going above and beyond - taking our children off to make offerings and to entertain them unasked, holding the baby at each mealtime, remembering our favourite drinks with dinner. The fact that the location is stunning goes without saying but it truly is a hidden paradise. We also took up the special moonlight dinner in our room on the final night and it’s amongst the most special and delicious dinners we’ve ever had. I cannot wait to go back again.
