As a resort surrounded by the Ayung River in Ubud, a district known for its natural beauty, Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve captures both the magic of Bali and the serenity of seclusion. The charm of this hotel lies not only in its spiritual and cultural richness, but in the joy of simply letting go. Here, surrounded by verdant rice paddies and ancient temples, guests will find joy in escaping daily distractions while turning to more relaxing endeavors.

A real *****star experience. Everything made exclusively beautiful, the villas are so good. We were here at the rainy season and got some poor downs. But the everything is so well kept we enjoyed it. I did a lot of yoga, also private lessons. The teacher were all very professionell. They could help me to improve. We also loved the Spa. We can compare from experiences all over Asia. They are among the best.

Our last trip to Bali was really an interesting experience ! We booked the table and 10 course tasting menu was amazing ! The staff and the ambience was excellent at par. Would suggest you to try this restaurant. Quite an interesting concept . The staff were excellent and kudos to the chef ! Amazing experience and will surely make it again.

A+. Have stayed around the world for 15 years at different Bonvoy properties and this has to be the best one I’ve been to in terms of service and property. As point of reference, St Regis Bora Bora is my #2 and have been to most STR properties globally

We stayed in Villa 11 from 18 to 19 February. The room itself was big,Spacious and clean. The staff were excellent and very attentive. Our butler Dewa made sure everything was Great. The Breakfast was great many options. The traditional Bali dance and Traditional Food was excellent. The ambar had a great selection of drinks and food. The bathroom in the room was so big and clean.Although for the rooms I do recommend Villa 10,11 or 12 if you don’t want to hear the river.Overall it was a great stay.

Because of the overwhelming number of 5-star reviews, some as recent as a day ago, you might tire of them all and just skip this. However, I would like to throw my hat in the ring with a different spin. If you’re looking into this resort, and realizing it’s a Ritz Carlton, you know it isn’t going to be an inexpensive proposition. One would expect the well-to-do elite to be the primary customer, and a certain air of “snootiness” to come with it (a la “White Lotus”). Well for those of you who are wondering if this place could ever be for you, let me emphatically state, “Yes! You will fit in just fine.” We are far from being flush with funds to be able to stay at a paradise such as this. Because we have lots of Marriott points from business travel, however, we were fortunate enough to be able to stay for 5-nights with a slight fee for an upgraded suite, though I’m sure the standard room would have been just as good. I must also state that this trip was for my milestone birthday ending in a zero, and they knew that, but I’m going out on a limb to say it only mattered a tiny bit more. Knowing we were not a cash customer, one would think that we’d be treated a few notches lower, but that was far from the case with us. The management thanked us for our loyalty, and throughout the stay we were treated like royalty, the King and Queen of our own country. We had the best Patih (“Butler”), Darren, that like many of the staff mentioned in other reviews, anticipated our every need. Here's the mostly unmentioned prize of this resort: the Bali culture!!! From the Patih, to the Chef and servers, to the grounds people making everyday repairs. Every single person you encounter is friendly, helpful, and respectful, something you will rarely find in the States! Having been to Bali three times prior to this visit, back in my shoestring budget days, the last trip being 26 years ago, I knew what the old “real” Bali was like. I had reservations about being in the secluded “fortress of paradise” away from the rest of the island. I was so happy that the spirit of Bali was still there in everyone we met. I’m the type that will strike up a conversation with anyone, and it was so wonderful to hear the people’s stories of how they grew up, their customs, their experiences, and the like. And while deep down you know that each person working there is selected for their personality and trained to deliver at all costs, I can with a doubt tell you that everyone is genuine and willing to share if you let them. Aside from Darren, one of my most favorite persons I had the honor of meeting and talking with was Eka Sunarya, the chef that made it all happen in the various restaurants on the property. He prepared what could easily be a Michelin star 7-course meal, and when I asked to meet him to provide our gratitude, he gladly came out to share his story. While not on the list of “things to do,” he offered to take us foraging on the farm he goes to daily to get his fresh ingredients for the upcoming meals. Sadly, the rain kept us from being able to go, but I know it would have been incredible and a true peek into the real Bali. Even though that didn’t pan out, Eka still made sure that my wife and I got to learn about everything culinary in our meals. He pointed out the three different honeys that were available at breakfast, and when he found out my favorite, he surprise gifted me a small jar of it to bring back home on our last day. I could go on and on (like many also can’t help themselves), but I hope for those that might not be used to this level of luxury, you can tell that Mandapa is your home where you will be treated the same as every other guest there. I’m sure it was just in my head, but I felt we were treated BETTER than many. Maybe it was the birthday treatment, maybe we had the best Patih, maybe it was a magic elixir pumped into our wonderful sunset drinks. Whatever it was, we noticed! We can’t wait until our next trip back. If you’re contemplating, just make the jump and do it! You will not regret it in the least.
