Hanging Gardens of Bali

The second half of our week in Bali was spent at the Hanging Gardens of Bali hotel. It is difficult to know where to start with reviewing this stay, such was the exceptionally high level of guest experience. We stayed in villa 10 which had two distinct rooms (one with lounge and ensuite, the other with bedroom / living room plus large bathroom and further private covered area with two massage beds), courtyard, private infinity dipping pool and covered lounging area. The hotel is built into the side of a jungle valley and the views from our courtyard were breathtaking and almost overwhelming. To have uninterrupted views of the jungle with its bird life, butterflies, monkeys etc in a natural habitat has been an unrivalled pleasure and unique experience. The staff are amongst the best we have encountered across all the continents we have travelled to. Nothing was too much trouble and we were greeted by name at almost every encounter. It was clear to us that the concept of an exemplary guest experience is top priority across the whole team. Restaurant food was top quality and was matched by skilled, attentive service. One of our party eats gluten-free and this was accommodated seamlessly. The housekeeping team and the team responsible for the outside areas are worthy of special mention - it must be a complex matter to maintain such high standards in a challenging environment within a jungle valley - they achieve this so well while maintaining guest privacy and working discretely. We didn’t book any spa treatments but did participate in the complimentary daily yoga sessions which were inclusive of all abilities and led by two expert teachers - this was a really enjoyable part of the experience. We happened to be in Bali for the annual Nyepi (“day of silence”) and, with guidance from the hotel staff (including helping with Sarong-tying), we walked up to the local village to witness the Ngerupuk celebration. Locals join together in what can only be described as a joyful, loud, colourful and thrilling celebration in the streets on the evening preceding Nyepi - huge effigies of evil spirits (Ogoh-Ogoh) are carried through the streets by children and young people. I would add that as a same-sex couple, we were never aware that we were viewed or treated differently to any other guests - staff were totally welcoming at Hanging Gardens of Bali. All together an overwhelming, luxurious stay in an amazing hotel - bravo Hanging Gardens management and staff - you got it 100% right for us, thank you so much for your care and attention to detail.

This is haven on earth! Location is probably the best I have experienced. Absolute stunning natural environment, combined with luxury service and attention to detail. The team is just reading your wishes from your eyes. I loved the atmosphere in the villa and also in the restaurant/bar. Food and service quality is outstanding. This is the place to lay back and absorb the energy. To connect with the nature and reconnect with yourself. The team was going the extra mile and took care of every single detail. My four nights stay relaxed me to the maximum and I want to come soon back to this amazing place.

My fiancée’s birthday took place during our stay, and I also proposed to her with a beautifully arranged surprise event. The team at Hanging Gardens went above and beyond to make everything absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such warmth and hospitality. We originally booked a riverside villa, but they generously upgraded us to a breathtaking panoramic villa with the most stunning views. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and dedicated to making our stay special. Their ultra-luxury customer service truly stands out. Every little detail, from the romantic ambiance to the seamless organization of our special moments, was handled with care and professionalism. The surroundings, the infinity pool, and the overall atmosphere make this place pure paradise. If you're looking for a luxurious, once-in-a-lifetime experience with impeccable service, Hanging Gardens is the place to be. We can't thank the team enough for making our engagement and celebration so magical. We will definitely be back!

Finest personal attention you can get! The villas are spacious and very comfortable. The staff are very courteous and understand your needs very well. The food is great and very healthy if you would like that way. You can spend your entire time at the resort and not miss anything in Bali!!!
