Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Hotel

The hotel is really nice and new.No insects,even mosquitoes.The food is not the best in a buffet.I highly recommend an Indian restaurant as I found it really delicious. The stuff of the hotel is amazing.Guys are well educated and know their job.I want to mention Richar,the guy from gym and play room.He always helped me at the gym and he is a professional coach with many years experience. Friendly and kind. Also the hotel has a night club and karaoke/snack bar 24 hours with drinks and food.

This was my 1st time at this resort and I took my daughter. We had a fantastic time. Big beautiful hotel. Everyone was so friendly. One thing they should have is more music around the hotel. I want to give a big shout out to Cesar on the entertainment team, Thank you Cesar for making our hoilday very special. We will return.

If you’re looking for the best resort, this is ittttttt!!!! Don’t hesitate to book it because you’ll have a fun time here!!! The pool, garden, and the beach are all so elegant and the staff accommodates you well. BOOK IT NOWWW!!! You will have fun!

This was my second stay at this beautiful resort, and once again, it exceeded expectations. The staff are incredibly friendly and always go above and beyond to ensure a great experience. The only downside was the smoking situation. Some guests smoked in non-designated areas, especially near the pool, which made it difficult to enjoy the area. I suggest management reinforce the smoking policy with clearer signage and have staff frequent the area gently reminding guests of the policy. The placement of ashtrays inside the hotel also confused guests, as they assumed smoking was allowed indoors. This impacted my experience, as I had to move multiple times to avoid the smoke and am very susceptible to bronchitis. Despite this, my vacation was fantastic. The staff, food, and facilities were top-notch, and with a few adjustments to the smoking policy, this resort would be perfect. **Food:** The buffet offers a wide variety of fish, lamb, chicken, pork, salads, vegetables, and desserts. Breakfast is a highlight with freshly made omelets, eggs, juice stations, and the best cappuccino. The staff are attentive and hardworking, always with a smile. **A la Carte:** Highly recommend the Indian Spice and Italian restaurants—both offer delicious meals with excellent service. The Asian restaurant is also a fun experience with Japanese-style open grill cooking. **Hotel Grounds:** The resort is beautifully landscaped, creating a peaceful and serene environment. It's a joy to stroll around and take in the natural beauty. **Rooms:** Immaculately maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. Bottled water is replenished daily, but remember to remove the "Do Not Disturb" sign for housekeeping to enter. **Beach:** The turquoise waters are stunning. While the beach is small, I never had trouble finding a lounger with an umbrella in the late afternoon. I hear it’s harder to get one in the morning. **Front Desk & Guest Services:** Check-in was quick and easy, and the staff, including Dorian and Jorge, were always helpful. A special thank you to Barbara, Mabel, Lisa, Tony, and Patricia for their assistance during my stay—whether it was helping me find my lost sunglasses or scheduling a dentist appointment. Your support made my trip memorable. **Animation Team:** Danillo and the rest of the team were fantastic, keeping the atmosphere lively with activities and shows. The male singer, who performs weekly, has an incredible voice—his renditions of classic love songs are unforgettable. **Lobby Bar Staff:** Extremely friendly and hardworking. Special thanks to Arixia, Ariana, Harold, Brian, and Jordi for making my experience enjoyable. So many others I am forgetting **Others:** Leo at Karaoke, Antonio at the swim-up bar, and all the other staff contributed to my wonderful stay. Thank you, everyone!

Having enjoyed perhaps 30 all inclusive resorts in seven countries over 50 years, Gran Muthu, Holguin rates as my favourite. Don’t cross out Cuba because of potential food shortages and power failures. Yes, one morning the buffet ran out of eggs about 10:30 am and many products including medicine are unavailable in stores to Cubans and tourists alike; a grim reminder that the USA maintains an embargo over Cuba and influences what other countries may trade there. I felt good spending my vacation dollars supporting a lovely country that is economically suppressed by its neighbour. Cost? I think about half what we would have paid at a 5* rated resort in Mexico. Power failure? Yes, for 20 minutes once; Gran Muthu has a generator. Gran Muthu is modern, beautiful, and welcoming. We were in the adult section. Thank you to our butlers Lechuga, Adrian, Adel and Yacnier who spoiled us and to the cordial receptionists at checkin. The rooms were modern and immaculate, the beds comfortable. The food was varied, fresh and delicious and served with attention to presentation. The quality of the Chilean wine was a pleasant surprise. Restaurant servers remembered our choices. Thanks, Annabella, Yadian, Joce and the rest. The Asian and Indian a la cartes were good. Entertainment was professional and fun. The sea was warm with a lovely clean white beach and plenty of shade. We enjoyed the board/cement walk along the sea 1 km or so. Lots of clean pools, green spaces and gardens, plus a mini farm and a guardian goat. Kudos to the cleaners, food servers, grounds keepers, entertainers, bar servers, butlers for your sincere welcome; I felt at home in your country and hope to return soon. Tips: - To get more: upgrade to the Adult only - To give more: take meds for adults and kids, used glasses, personal hygiene products, dried food. Tip with bills: $1 Am or $5 Cdn. Coins don’t fit in the ATMs and Cubans have to ask us to trade their coins for bills.
