If ever there was a way to compromise between cultural intrigue of Bangkok’s bustling streets and a relaxing retreat to one of Thailand’s coastal destinations, this is it: Anantara Bangkok Riverside Resort & Spa, a 400-room resort that presides over the city’s main aquatic artery. Chill out in dense tropical gardens at the edge of one of the largest outdoor pools in Bangkok before a day on the town, returning to a room outfitted in Thai silks and warm hardwoods.

Just had 1 night here but a lovely hotel with great pool and restaurants. We had dinner at the Longtail restaurant which was good and the breakfast offering was quite unbelievable I thought I had seen it all in Dubai hotels but this was even more extensive It’s a little out of the way and took about 45 mins in a cab from the airport but lovely to spend the evening by the river

This November, I organized an event for 52 people, and we stayed for a few days at a hotel that was both authentic and had excellent service—I truly appreciated everyone there. A special thanks goes to the sales manager for being incredibly professional, hardworking, and dedicated to serving our team wholeheartedly. I’d also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Sudarat, who, on November 6th, served us at Trader Vic’s restaurant and went above and beyond by finding my jewelry box and returning it to the reception. It was a truly magical experience!

After reading the reviews my low expectations were realised when I came to stay this November. My friend had already booked the accommodation otherwise I would have gone elsewhere. This is a 1970s-80s style luxury hotel specialising in weddings and events. Consequently you’ll hear thumping music being played way past midnight on most nights of the week. The hotel staff seem powerless to do anything. My friend paid a high end price for a junior suite requesting a river view. We got a room on the 4th floor at the back of a building next to a canal. If you craned your neck to the right you saw a slither of the river. You couldn’t go out on the balcony without the room being infested with mosquitoes. There was no mosquito repellent provided for guests although ringing guest services was necessary. The air con worked so well that even on low speed it blasted a strong draft directed to your head / body which resulted in a sore throat/ head cold every morning. Even changing positions etc didn’t seem to improve conditions. The best thing about the place is the service. Housekeeping generally did a good job with daily cleaning and turn down service. The breakfast buffet in the morning although a bit of a pig trough manages a large number of guests each morning and seems to cope reasonably well. The free boat shuttle service to Icon Siam and Sathorn is great and highly useful. The hotel itself is far from many attractions in Bangkok and at the end of a long line of hotels on the riverfront. It’s now competing with newer and better located hotels in Bangkok. Shame about the music and outdated decor as it could provide a unique sanctuary in busy and polluted Bangkok.

Had 9 nights at the Anantara Riverside and from the moment we arrived greeted by Bee our stay was absolutely fabulous. We were fortunate to have access to the Kasara Lounge and I cannot say enough of every staff member of the Kasara Lounge. The Anantara Riverside should be extremely proud of all their staff although our interactions were mostly with the Kasara Lounge staff and I would request that senior management take the time to thank every staff member of the Kasara Lounge for making our stay absolutely perfect. It is due to their dedication and commitment that has us planning another trip to Anantara Riverside. Also thank you to Bee who was so very kind to us.
