A Fan of Anantara Brands But this Anantara Failed Miserably

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I recently spent 5 days at the Anantara Siam Bangkok with my family, expecting the usual high standards that the Anantara brand is known for. Unfortunately, our experience fell far below expectations, especially considering my GHA Titanium membership, which seemed to offer no privileges during our stay. The arrival was smooth, with a seamless transfer from the airport. Penni and Copter from Anantara greeted us and ensured our large party of 6 guests and 6 pieces of luggage were taken care of. The driver, Chaimongkhorn, was excellent, and the vehicle was stocked with water, juices, chips, and wet tissue – definitely a nice touch. However, the problems began upon check-in. We had booked 3 Kasara Rooms, and we were taken to the Kasara Lounge on the 7th floor for check-in. Unfortunately, the lounge was disappointing—old, outdated furniture and an atmosphere more suited to a morgue than a luxury hotel. Even the background music sounded like something you'd hear in an elevator. To make matters worse, we were not able to get our third room until 5pm, even though we checked in after 3pm. As a GHA Titanium member, I had hoped for early check-in and perhaps an upgrade, but there was no recognition of these privileges. A simple heads-up about the room delay would have been appreciated, as we had children with us and could have planned accordingly. Despite the delays, Narisa, the manager, handled the situation with professionalism, and we eventually got our third room. Unfortunately, the room itself was a letdown. The furniture was outdated and cramped, despite attempts to make it look more modern. The only redeeming feature was the large, spacious bathroom. The pool area was another disappointment. It felt outdated, and there were safety concerns for the kids, as the pool depth ranged from 0.4m to 2.5m. I rarely saw a pool attendant, and the water was cold, ranging from 22°C to 25°C. There was also no privacy, as tall apartment buildings overlooked the pool area. While the Kasara Lounge left much to be desired in terms of atmosphere, the staff there - Jatin, Beer, Mo, New, Pupae, and Jarb were exceptional and made us feel welcome. The afternoon tea and canapés were decent but nothing to write home about. Breakfast at the main restaurant was busy but excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, particularly PK, who stood out for being proactive and remembering our preferences. Other staff members like Achi, Junie, and Suttipong also deserve praise for their excellent service. We had a quiet birthday celebration for the kids at Biscotti, the hotel’s Italian restaurant. The food, ambiance, and staff were all fantastic. Special thanks to Anna, Prang, and Winne for their excellent service, and Prang for the great food recommendations. Our transfer to the airport was another letdown. Unlike our arrival transfer, there were no drinks, chips, or wet tissues provided—just a half-consumed can of water and a bottle of juice. It was a stark contrast to our earlier experience. On a positive note, Penni and Peed met us at the airport and assisted us with check-in, which was much appreciated. Overall, I’m disappointed by my stay at Anantara Siam Bangkok and unlikely to return unless significant renovations are done. The hotel caters more to business travelers and is not child-friendly, making it less ideal for families. The lack of privileges for GHA Titanium members was especially frustrating.

I discovered this hotel thanks to Uppoompat and Poom, and coincidentally decided to book a stay because of Up’s birthday fan meeting. It turned out to be an unexpectedly amazing experience! The bed, in particular, was incredibly comfortable—it’s rare to find such a great bed in a hotel. The buffet breakfast and dessert shop were delicious, and the massage service was wonderfully relaxing. Highly recommended! Special thanks to Elle, the lovely staff member who assisted with the check-out process. I’ll definitely be booking this hotel again for Poom’s birthday in May next year

Beautiful Hotel Great Service

Just returned from this really beautiful hotel loved every moment of our stay the decor is exquisite modern with a twist of Thailand. The staff are lovely and the breakfast was delicious. The bar area was great with lots of atmosphere which you don’t often get in big hotels. The pool area is also a bonus to relax around after a day in the city.

Amazing stay; VIP treatment for GHA Titanium member

The service level of the staff was excellent. Breakfast was amazing too. One of the best I’ve had. Big shout out to the whole Anantara team, esp Woramon Katesermsuk, the Kasara Club Lounge Manager who was very hospitable to me. Wish I could have stayed longer but I had other appointments. If I come back to Bangkok, I will definitely stay at this hotel again!
