Reviews for Conrad Bangkok

Beautiful Conrad Bangkok but just a little more to work on

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 21 hours ago

A long review but worthy of a read for families. We stayed at the Conrad Bangkok as a family of two adults and three teenagers (gold members) in a premium family room. We checked in via the executive lounge. The premium family room is a king room with its own king bathroom, walk in wardrobe, lounge room and dining room which connects via a double door to a room with twin beds. The area is around 100sqm approximately which is huge. The executive lounge check-in process was mediocre. It was not great unfortunately. It was rather generic and clinical when we attended and it would have been lovely if the greeting was a lot more friendly, welcoming, warm and hospitable to make us feel welcomed and comfortable (for the first time) particularly as gold members as well. As a family we have very high expectations when we stay at hotels with executive lounge access and the Conrad fell short this time. It would have been great to have had a few things explained to us rather than simply giving us the code to scan to work it out for ourselves. Unfortunately, these type of hotel greetings are becoming quite common and losing that personal touch of “hospitality”. When we arrived in the room it was very hot and the blinds were completely open to showcase the view which was understandable however, if doing that perhaps increase the air conditioning so we are welcomed into a cool air conditioned room with a great view. Food for thought. The second room for the teenagers was very cramped unfortunately but had a good size bathroom with a lovely bathtub. I think what would have improved our stay is if there was more space in the second room to accommodate 3 single beds (and removed various pieces of furniture in advance to accommodate this) and the dining and living room made smaller. It becomes quite frustrating when we as a family of three teenagers and two adults check into hotels that do not accommodate five but rather accommodate for four eg two adults and two kids. We enjoy the hotel experience rather than apartments hence why we opted for the Conrad Hotel and not the Conrad Residences. I was not aware until our last night that a proper quilt was not provided to our third child who was basically freezing throughout our entire stay. I had assumed that her bed had been set up like everyone else’s but clearly not. I requested an additional blanket which was delivered promptly and made all the difference! Unfortunately, on our last day/night at 3pm housekeeping had not attended to our room which was very frustrating. Particularly after our last big day out in Bangkok and returning to a room that was not done. That was really poor. My observation is on the last day of stays at hotels that the housekeeping service usually drops as they do not feel they need to impress anymore hence on this occasion. Apart from this, the housekeeping was otherwise excellent with cleanliness , replenishing items etc and the beautiful welcomed evening turn down service, thank you. The pool was beautiful as was the whirlpool and the pool attendees very attentive. The complimentary ice cream, sorbet and fresh fruit is a nice touch, thank you. The gym is wonderful with a great amount of equipment and an attentive gym attendant as well. It was unfortunate the women’s spa and sauna was not working. This was for our entire stay. Some foresight should be given into letting your guest know in advance that things would not be working and perhaps compensating them in some special way given the exorbitant price for the premium family room. Again food for thought. Bear in mind families book end of year trips well in advance to celebrate together after completing a hard year of school and work commitments. If there are amenities that won’t be provided for an entire stay then thought should be given to compensate that missed amenity accordingly. This was missed by your team and was not mentioned at check in either. The hotel decor, bedding, amenities in the rooms are absolutely beautiful, thank you. We would also like to thank the incredible entertainment trio band on Saturday and Monday nights – you three (singer, drummer and pianist) were wonderful and we absolutely loved watching and listening to you all, thank you. You must make your way to Sydney! The Executive Lounge team was a bit of a hit and miss. Some days staff were somewhat welcoming and other days unfriendly or too busy to even engage. Some orders were forgotten and some orders never taken until we approached the staff. There was very little connection by staff with us in terms of feeling welcomed. There was no suggestion of where to visit, how our trip was going – just very distant and unengaging, sadly. I am sorry to say that the Executive team service fell short of our expectations in terms of engagement with guests. The Executive Lounge was beautifully presented each day and very appreciated. The food and drinks each day was wonderful, thank you Chef! This was our first stay at a Conrad hotel and we were very happy for the most part. The hotel is worth its 5 stars. Though, I would love to see the service in the Executive Lounge improve considerably particularly when you are paying a premium for the rooms such as ours and the Executive Lounge. There’s no doubt they are all very professional and hardworking however, perhaps a little work on being more personable with gestures such as asking how you are, what you got up to today, would you like any suggestions of where to go, is this your first trip to Thailand, where are you from etc so that you engage with your guest. These gestures make a difference to guests who appreciate great hospitality from five star hotels. As guests, we also love to engage with you as you are able to educate us about your beautiful country and impart knowledge from your perspective for us to learn and embrace your culture and likewise for us. This is why we all travel. In saying the above, will we be back ….YES. The Conrad Bangkok is our first of the Conrad hotels and we are now very much looking forward to trying the other Conrads around the world.

Not Worth the Price for a Conrad property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The room we booked was a corner room, so the view was good. While booking , the lady at the reception mentioned the toilet doesn’t have a bidet, so I asked her is it a Japanese toilet & she said yes. But that wasn’t the case. The room was pretty old. The food was really bad for Conrad standards. We stayed there for 5N / 6 D & the breakfast everyday was so disappointing . The croissants were dry. The chicken used in the pandan leaves were smelling foul. The dishes were repeated every morning . Basically it was a shocker . The only bright side was we were in Bangkok and there’s no dearth for great food, so all we did was get a toast and scoot to eat better food outside. The only thing we enjoyed at Conrad was the view from the room, the pool was good & the bed was decent for a good sleep. Definitely not worth the price we paid. Not coming to stay here.

Great hotel, good service and facilities

Great hotel. The rooms are comfortable with good views and the staff are friendly and attentive. There’s a well equipped gym and the pool is tranquil and not too busy. There is a free shuttle bus which takes you to a local BTS station where you can get around Bangkok pretty easily (traffic is a nightmare here). Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Treated Royally -- a Wonderful Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The Conrad Bangkok is a hotel I've returned to several times over a number of years in the pre-Covid era. I was glad to go back in January 2025 and can report the hotel is better than ever. I stayed in the Presidential Suite, a palatial accommodation, worth a trip in and of itself, but the entire Club level experience at the Conrad is above-and beyond. The entire staff was unfailingly polite, gracious, and full of smiles, and the staff in the Lounge remembered who I was, addressing me by name and asking if I'd like the same as I had the day before. I would like to note that the GM, Mr. Timothy Shaughnessy, and the Operations Manager, Mr. Antoine Caudel, both went out of their way to greet me and to let me know that they were available should I need anything. Mr. Caudel showed me the extraordinarily private waterfall oasis beyond the hotel's herb garden on the pool level, which was a secluded sort of contemplative area with the sound of small waterfalls drowning out any Bangkok traffic noise. And it was completely private with no one else around. Extraordinary. I was sorry to have to leave, but all good times must come to an end. I will be back, however!

Our wonderful stay in Conrad Bangkok from Dec 21 2024 to Jan 12 2025

This review is written by Alice Leung My husband and I went to Bangkok for our 30th Anniversary this past December and booked Conrad Bangkok for 2 weeks. Antoine Causel who is the Director of Operations was so sweet to send us champagne & cake & decorate our room on our special day, what a wonderful surpise, thank you Antoine. And there is even more heart warming happenings. The day before we were scheduled to go back home, my husband has had some flu like symptoms and therefore did a Covid quick test and voila he was positve. We do not think it is ethical to boarda flight and therefore we informed the Executive Lounge that we need to stay a few more days and we would lock ourselves up to get this Covid thing passed. The team on duty that evening was so wonderful to help me arrange the extended stay and advise me what medical options I have for my husband, and arranged food and supplies to be delivered to our room daily during our self quarantine. Everything were looked after so carefully and thoughtfully. They are just angels! My husband and I were so grateful that we stayed at Conrad Bangkok and our heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the Executive Lounge, especially Rose, Ziggy, Mihwa & April, they were so caring, warm, helpful and supportive, love them. Also I would like to thank the housekeeper Chok who cleaned up our room most of the days, this gentleman is so attentive and detailed that the room was cleaned spotless and things are organised perfect. My husband and I were impressed. We have no hesitation to recommend Conrad Bangkok
