Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok

As my 4th visit, it is refreshing to always find something new at Kimpton Maa Lai. Room is spacious, and all IHG One Rewards elite benefits are honored here. Front office team are always warm and professional, while the R&B team provides some of the best services in town. Last but not least, big shout out to Ms. Pi-Pi at the reception. She offered efficient check-in, along with tons of personal touches that could not be regulated in SOPs. There are tons of luxury hotels in Bangkok, but it’s team members like Ms. Pi-Pi that made a hotel stay truly memorable.

Impressive property in terms of electrical and civil engineering works. The hotel is conveniently situated in the heart of Bangkok in Langsuan area surrounded by world renowned shopping malls and office buildings, and only a shy 5-minute walk away from Bangkok’s Central Park. Now onto the actual review, I am a returning guest of this hotel and each frequent visit continues to surpass my high expectations of the Kimpton brand. Some places become more than buildings or destinations; they become a part of your chapter. For me, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok has been just that: a place where every visit is marked with warmth, attentiveness, and unforgettable moments. I celebrated my birthday at the hotel in January 2025. At first, I didn’t expect much since I was only planning to have a short getaway after the birthday party back home. But since I was seen like family, every single venue made sure I had the time of my life— they flew me to the stratosphere, literally. The unmatched level of personalization started from the Front of House, Concierge, Spa, Restaurants, all the way to the Breakfast Buffet. Khun Loïc, the exemplary staff at front desk, took the initiative to learn of my favorite video game and drew its logo by hand! He even went out of his way to put the cherry on top by delivering the sparkling wine Prosecco to my room— almost like he knew I liked sparkling wines. Of course, the magic did not stop there. I took my friends to the Langsuan’s hidden gem bar called Ruby’s, located within the restaurant Ms. Jigger— no pun intended obviously. Khun Kam made sure I had the time of my life by arranging a birthday surprise with a tiramisu cake, while Khun Mei further orchestrated the festivities by opening a bottle of champagne. I wouldn’t go much in detail since Ms. Jigger and Ruby’s deserve a review of their own. My friends and I then headed to Bar.Yard, Amaranth Spa, and Stock.Room where we enjoyed the best breakfast buffet in town. Every single staff member recognized that it was a special day for me, which added to the warmth that this hotel so brings. To the staff at Kimpton Maa-lai reading this, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation of the work you put in and I hope that guests like me will bring you inspirations to continue curating the magic for other wonderful guests to come. Thank you so much, it really means a lot to me.

All of the information regarding the hotel was provided on an A4 sheet of paper including restaurant times, gym times and pool times. I went down to breakfast all the way to the third floor appropriately dressed in tailored shorts and a T-shirt. I wore the slippers provided by the hotel. These apparently are not allowed. Nothing on the information sheet to advise of this. People allowed in in their own slippers and flip-flops but not the hotels. Went all the way back to my room and couldn’t be bothered to go back for breakfast. $450 a night. Stick your breakfast where the sun doesn’t shine.
