Great Hotel Breakfast

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 18 hours ago

I really like staying at the Lebua. The hotel breakfast is amazing. It is one of my favorite hotel breakfasts with tons of American, European, Indian, and Asian breakfast options. The rooms are nice and the hotel is by the river and located next to a great area for Thai street food. I have stayed here several times and always have an excellent stay.

A mixed experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

We stayed here for 5 nights over Christmas, initially in a Tower room on the 54th floor and then on the 25th floor. The hotel entrance is up an obscure side street, not the ostentatious frontage that I expected. But our Tower room was spacious and had views to die for over the river. Although the Tower Room had priority on the lift to the top, not once, but TWICE the lift doors shut on me (and I was quick to try to enter) crushing my arms and I was very shocked and frankly worried about using the lift after that. We ate several times at the Cafe Mozu which was excellent. The breakfast buffet was Outstanding. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the food were generous portions and very tasty. Housekeeping often changed the settings on our Air Con in our room which was annoying as it was put on (and therefore freezing ) when we had deliberately turned if off. We did not eat dinner at the hotel on Christmas Day which had a set "Surprise" Menu which would have cost 5 of us over £3000, which we were not prepared to do especially if we had no idea what was on the menu at all.! Instead we had an outstanding dinner at the nearby Mandarin Oriental. Not sure we would stay there again...

Great experience in a beautiful place

We had a lovely stay and were treated fantastically by everyone at the hotel. The room was great and the location excellent. The breakfast we loved as it had so much and catered to a lot of tastes. A special mention about Guest Relations expert Aoom who from check in was super and was very helpful throughout. Me and my wife were so impressed. Thanks Aoom

No we wont be back

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Let me start by saying, This is a lovely hotel and the staff are amazing ( as you would expect in Thailand). Breakfast is very good. However, and this is why only 1 star. We paid a lot of money to the hotel for a transfer from the airport. We stood with the hotel representative for approx 40 minutes outside the airport waiting for their car to arrive - whilst we saw other hotel cars pull up, load people in and depart. 40 minutes after you have been travelling for around 24 hours is not good. The lifts are a nightmare and a 10 minute wait for a lift is not uncommon. There appears to be more service lifts than guest lifts. The suites are very strange, the living room is at the back as you walk in and has no windows - because the bedroom is at the front with double doors to the balcony. Completely the wrong way round as the lounge area is so dark and dismal you would never want to sit in it. Plus Bangkok is so very noisy that it makes much more sense to have the bedroom at the back where its much quieter. The balcony is a picture opportunity only, they dont have any seats on it for relaxation. The food and drink is very expensive, especially at the Sky bar - which incidentally is incredibly hard to get into as they cordon some of it off, so forget about the lovely big area that you see in the videos. Unless you are eating up there - so spending A LOT of money, you wont be able to experience all of that space. But this is the biggest downside of all, the pool area. The pool is very very cold, so much so its painful to get in. This is not helped by the fact that most of it is in shade. Couple that with the fact there are a ridiculously low amount of sun loungers for the hotel of that size, you dont stand a chance of getting one. The Pool feels like an afterthought. The 1 star is for the staff only, certainly not a relaxing hotel. They are living off the fact their sky bar was in a movie years ago. Get a grip management and sort out your hotel, as Bangkok has a great choice of other hotels where you can relax AND have a swim.
