Reviews for Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok

Lovely hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 10 hours ago

We loved this hotel. We stayed in a garden room as a family of 4. The room was huge and came with lots of freebies like afternoon tea, cocktails, restocked main bar. We didn’t really use any except we once went to the executive lounge for afternoon tea after spending the day at chatuchak and were all hungry. We arrived looking hot and sweaty and wearing flip flops. Lots of staff kept confirming we were staying in a suite as we looked like a family of beggars. Once we arrived in the lounge things could not have been more different. They made us special sandwiches as we are all vegetarian and said that we should let them know when we will be back so they can make special food for us. We didn’t to back as we were so busy in the city having fun but would have loved to as it was such a nice experience. Breakfast was great, lots of choice and great service although it was very busy. The pools are lovely and I really enjoyed splashing around. The only problem we had was during Songkran. Lots of people and children were splashing water and shooting water pistols as it was a big celebration. Apparently somebody in one of the swim up rooms complained about the noise (at 4pm in the afternoon). The security guard took it upon himself to speak quite sharply to our children who actually weren’t making much noise but didn’t do the same to the adults. I found it quite heavy handed and aggressive - I would have preferred that he spoke to me. When I told him I would prefer him to speak to me and not frighten my children he was also quite aggressive. My partner complained to the manger who didn’t seem to care and said that people using the pool should be quiet. I would agree with this had it not been 4pm, a public holiday and a water celebration and the people complaining could have shut their doors rather than expecting 40 people to be quiet as mice.

A short stay in Siam Kempinski.

From the moment you step into the hotel till the day I departed, there was nothing negative to write about. The housekeeping staff are exceptionally good. Lady in Red as always, friendly. I will return to the Siam Kempinski and strongly recommend to my friends.

Recommended Excellent Stay !

I had the pleasure to stay here coming back from my India pilgrimage. There was some hiccups during booking, email here and there until i have to get the management attention to sort things out. I had the pool access room, it feel like i was in a beach resort rather than a city hotel, probably one of its kind in Bangkok. The room is big and had all the modcon, even a chair swing, how cool is that ? I had room service but the masamam curry Failed, but it is ok since it was late at night. The next day i had breakfast at the restaurant just outside my room, the staff were Super ! They gave attentive service without being intrusive, I enjoyed the breakfast very much ! I try the Ex Lounge at the other building, the staff were Super too, especially the young lady intern, all good ! I also try out the spa, what a good way to relax before i continue flying to my next destination. The Lady in Red are kind and attend to all my needs, we had fun taking photos. Finally, there's even a club car to bring me to the BTS station, what more could i ask for ? Thank you Team Siam Kempinski Bangkok ! I will come back, hopefully, soon !!!

Returning Every Year – But After This Experience, We Won't Be Back

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We’ve been loyal Kempinski guests for years and hold Gold membership, returning to Bangkok every year with great excitement. This time, however, we were deeply disappointed—not because of a specific staff member, but because of how completely absent the hotel’s management was when we needed them most. We stayed in Bangkok for 10 days, and our kids were eager to visit the Kempinski they loved so much. We asked politely at the front desk if we could purchase a day pass just to enjoy a few hours at the pool—but were told it’s not possible. No effort was made to ask who we were, to check our history, or to offer even a small gesture. It didn’t seem to matter even if we were Titanium-level guests with fond memories and even unused credit from our last stay. What’s most disappointing is not the refusal itself—but the total lack of involvement from management. In every other high-end hotel we’ve visited, as soon as we reached out to management, someone responded that same day, offering a solution or at least trying to help. In every one of those hotels, there's a visible, accountable hotel manager whose role is exactly to handle these kinds of moments—and who knows how to turn a guest’s experience around completely. At Kempinski, we didn’t feel that anyone like that existed, or that anyone took ownership of the situation. A hotel manager should be present and ready to respond immediately to guest issues. The difference between reacting on the spot versus replying days later—when the guest has already left—is costly. In this case, it cost the hotel a returning guest who had planned to come back every year. For me, that’s exactly what separates truly top-tier hotels from the rest. In the end, we chose another hotel. Ironically, the service wasn’t perfect at first—but the management was present, responsive, and did everything they could to make our stay better. That kind of attitude is what we value most. We’re leaving Bangkok tomorrow. Days have passed since we reached out, and not a single person from Kempinski’s leadership even tried to change how we felt. That, to me, is the worst part. Staff can make mistakes, or have limits—but a silent, absent management team that doesn’t engage with returning guests? That’s unacceptable. Unfortunately, we won’t be coming back.
