Harborside Hotel Spa & Marina

We had never been to Bar Harbor, Maine and what a gem! We stayed at The Harborside Marina Hotel and so happy we did! The hotel was right on the marina so our views were spectacular! The first night we had dinner at the hotel, Bella Vita restaurant and the food and service exceeded our expectations! I booked a massage at the spa with Bobby and what a great experience…It was honestly one of the best massages I have ever had. The rooms were very clean and the beds were super comfortable! I cannot recommend the Harborside Marina hotel enough, thank you hotel staff, for making our vacation so memorable. We will definitely be back next season!

Stayed for an extended weekend recently and the place did not live up to the reputation many have given it. We had a 3-room suite (which holds 6 guests) and the hot tub on the porch only fits 4. Not a huge deal but annoying none the less. The rooms and common area were very nice but the doors to every room were awful and slammed closed. You could hear every room on the floor shutting as the walls were paper thin. From kids crying to screaming to literally hearing people brushing their teeth and coughing I would have expected better as it woke is up EVERY NIGHT! Talked to other guests and they experienced the same thing with doors and walls. It was nice that they had umbrellas to take with you but it would have been nicer to offer a shuttle around town. Lastly the food and beverage shuts down at 1000pm which if you wanted to grab a night cap and sit by the fire you are out of luck. If you were lucky enough to get one of the 6 or 8 seats at the bar the beverages were good. Overall an average hotel that I would not stay at again or recommend.

My family hosted a wedding in town. Many guests stayed at Harbor Side hotel. After our rehearsal dinner we returned to the hotel. The bride and groom and many family members gathered in the bar area. The issue was at 10pm they no long allowed us to move between the lobby (where the restroom are) and the bar area where most of the wedding party was. They closed the door between and put a guard (Christopher) at the door. The bar was closed, so it was not about being served. But the desk person (Jennifer) would not even allow the bride’s children to to go back in. The result was that anyone that walked through the door to give a hug or go to the restroom was held out from the rest of the family. We all ended up walking out , even though myself and many others were guests there. Jennifer , after being asked by several family members, said it was about the staff in that area. Even with the bar closed. I asked if I could go in and let the group know that we needed to move to another area, but she didn’t allow it. Customer service is not the priority. Simple hospitality is not either.

This is a beautiful hotel although we didn’t stay here this time. We stayed at a different hotel. Bar Harbor is a fantastic place to visit. We are hoping to stay here in the summer of ‘25. There is something for everyone in Bar Harbor! Lots of restaurants!

We stayed here 3 nights while in Bar Harbor. The property was very nice. Lobby was very inviting, with the lounge area and real wood fireplace. Reception was friendly and helpful. We had booked what I think was a king suite. This was a huge room. One side was a large hotel room with the bed and bathroom and the other part was a nice kitchenette with a large living room. Very nice balcony off the bedroom side. The room was very clean and well appointed. Can’t really comment on the hotel amenities as we did not use any except for room service. We ordered breakfast and it came in to-go containers in a brown paper bag. It served the purpose but not what we expected from this level of property. I will have to say you definitely can’t beat the location, you are in walking distance to everything. This proved very convenient during our trip. All in all, a very nice property and we would go back!
