A wonderful family holiday experience

A truly exceptional hotel! The quality of service from every section of the hotel was outstanding as was the food. We would definitely return. Very well located too. Thank you for making this stay for our family of eight people so unforgettable.

Definitely keep staying when next time to Barcelona

Tremendous experience in the hotel. The hotel staffs are all thoughtful and professional. They had wrote cards and gave little beverage for celebration of both me and my father’s birthday during the stay, which means a lot to us. We had a dinner in the lounge bar with the set menu, the bar singer plays a list of classic pop songs, which is so classic that we pretty much can sing the lyrics of most of his sing. Enjoys a lot that night. The hotel location is perfect, close to everywhere basically. Wouldn’t take more than 20 mins walk to any Gaudi’s most famous masterpiece in the city. It’s the old Ritz Hotel, love its scents of heritage and old school. For me Barcelona is a lovely city, this hotel add up a lot. Definitely consider to stay again with them next time.

Lovely Hotel, Excellent Service

All of the staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was well appointed and any request was attended to quickly. We especially enjoyed the breakfast service. The Christmas decorations were also lovely. We look forward to staying here again and would highly recommend.

Ritz charm, aristocratic calm

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This is a snapshot of royal English style- the Ritz heritage and the regal charm of the 18th and 19th centuries’ imperial age. For all its tradition, uniformed waiters and charming menus, it is somewhat tired. To my taste it added to the charm, after all when at the Ritz, we expect an old world experience. I recommend this hotel therefore to anyone who wants some old school glamour. If you want a rockstar venue then maybe not this one…

memorable & (almost) faultless !

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We stayed at El Palace for 3 nights and having had high hopes, our stay and the hotel was everything we expected. The lobby in particular was breathtaking, with a very opulent, old-world feel (you can see this used to be the Ritz). We found the reception on the small side, and tucked away into a small side room near the entrance, but it became apparent that anything else would have unjustly taken away from the lobby and that would have been a shame. We had a classic room (116) which had a long hall, a decent size bathroom with shower and bathtub and his/hers sinks, and a decent sized bedroom, with a mirror TV. The negatives we found were: - the towel rack which looked like it should be heated, did not work, and seemed more for decorative purposes. We called and raised it to housekeeping but they shrugged their shoulders. - there was no mirror in our room except the mirror above the sink in the bathroom & the TV mirror = no floor to ceiling mirrors anywhere which we found strange. - there was no coffee machine by default in the room (we had to ask for one and were quickly brought one up) - the balcony doors were quite shabby and did not close properly. They were not fully soundproof, and being on the 1st floor, it was quite loud during the night. The breakfast was delicious, with sufficient options and quality, in a wonderful covered interior garden, however we found it just a touch on the pricey side (we did not have it included in our room and just tried it on one occasion). The hotel location was suitable, and within walking distance of the main attractions and shops. Staff were warm and friendly. Unfortunately, whilst it was warm and sunny during our stay, it was also incredibly windy, so we did not make use of the rooftop bar, but we will be back to stay here shortly, and look forward to trying it then.
