Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel

The hotel cancelled our room two weeks before our visit! I booked ten months ago. No reason given other than a “ over booked” ! Absolutely terrible, said they were not accepting booking from individuals. Offered an alternative which was far away from the port, why do we not matter to these corporate entities?

Didn’t get to stay here as our reservation( that we booked in January) for 2 nights pre cruise,7-9th November, was cancelled with less than 2 weeks to go. The Hotel sent us an email saying that our dates were overbooked due to a booking glitch and our reservation was cancelled. It made no difference that we are Star Travellers in the Hotels loyalty scheme. After lots of emails( they don’t answer their phone) we were told categorically it was cancelled and that was that. An offer was made to use the Mirimar Hotel, but it has terrible reviews on Tripadvisor so we declined. We managed to find a hotel near to the cruise port that had availability and change our car transfer. It is totally unacceptable of Eurostars Marina Barcelona to cancel our booking. I noticed a few weeks ago that the cost of our room was double the price for new bookings. I think this is why our booking was cancelled.

The hotel is in a great position for Barcelona. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff are very good. However; The rooftop bar was closed even though the weather was good. It was Americas Cup week so would have been ideal. The bar also stopped serving beer from the taps at 20:00 with bottles only. (I later found out that I had been charged double). The food in the restaurant was truly awful with a piece of dried up cod. Another customer sent his steak back twice. Embarrassing! Due to the above the value for money was poor

Great location by the harbour, friendly and helpful team I requested an early check-in, coming in on an overnight flight; my room was ready when I arrived mid day. I had a delightful lunch in the casual restaurant. My room was clean, modern, spacious by European standards w a partial view of the harbour w/ nice amenities.

Eurostar Marina is excellent plus. Reception greeted us warmly, and walking into the hotel gives a very positive impression. It is beautifully decorated, the wood-lined hallways are lovely. We were delighted with the pristine room, which had a fantastic view of the marina and the city, a super spacious bathroom, coffee machine, steamer, safe, everything you might need + a comfortable bed. We were very tired from a long flight and ordered room service. It arrived hot, french fries crispy and everything perfect. Then came breakfast the following morning. OMG, the most plentiful buffet we’ve ever had. Some Spanish plates-ham, tortilla, churros along with fruit, yogurt, eggs, breads etc. constantly replenished. Nespresso coffee machines, hot milk. Unfortunately, it was a one-night stay for us, but the positive impression stayed until the last minute. Also unfortunately, while checking out we got into a political argument with J. in the front desk, after he inquired where we were from. As I was getting upset, I asked him to stop. Highly, highly recommended hotel (perfect for a cruise) and we will look for other Eurostar hotels in our future travels.
