A living museum, Barcelona is a fitting home for the design savvy Gran Derby Hotel. This Derby Hotels Collection is its own intimate work of art, beginning in its spacious suites and guest rooms that pair contemporary décor with works by Salvador Dalí and other notable artists. And if you find yourselves hungry for even more art, you can slip over to sister property, Hotel Derby, to admire the Miró lithographs at Epsom restaurant.

We stayed here for 2 nights before heading on a cruise for our honeymoon. Staff couldn't be nicer here and the rooms are the most beautiful and comfortable we've ever stayed in. We both had such a good night sleep with comfy pillows and bed. Hotel is a great location and so easy to get to everything in Barcelona. We also enjoyed the large bath in our room and the maids, all staff were so nice. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay and would highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Barcelona ☺️

We usually stick to the hotels associated with a chain that we know and so when this place popped up on Hilton's app I thought it looked like a good option for us. I landed up booking it through Expedia because we had a deal with Amex that got 10% off but actually the price to book directly from the Gran Derby's own site was about the same as the net price I paid so best to book there. It was a very good value for the price we paid. Booked a "junior suite" that had a separate seating area from the bedroom as well as a seating area in the bedroom. Huge room by European standards. Bathroom had a tub/shower with great water pressure (a bit high to step over was our only complaint). Towels were fantastic. Huge and soft! Bed was comfy and room was quiet. Desk staff was friendly and attentive. Accommodated a request to check out late even though we landed up not needing to use it. The hotel is located on a nice, relatively quiet residential street (there are a couple of "adult clubs" nearby but to be honest we were back at our room before they even opened). It's a little bit of a walk from the train station if you have luggage (15-20 minutes) but around a 12 euro cab ride. Good selection of restaurants close by - had lunch on our first day at the pizza place across the street. While we walked the city from the hotel it is about a 30-40 minute walk to the main La Rambla tourist area so either take mass transit or pack comfy shoes. Mall is nearby for any shopping needs.

Even though the room design is not the best for anyone but couples, it was very comfortable and the staff were fantastic. It is a little out of the way in terms of tourism however a few bucks and a taxi got us everywhere. Breakfast was fantastic, just keep an eye on the times as they hours are slightly different. The double bed suite was our favorite amongst our group as there were doors for privacy; the the single king was great however the bathroom was in full view of the rest of the room and it had no door. Would definitely stay here again, would just pick a different floor plan if traveling with friends.

Lovely hotel with a boutique feel towards the northern end of downtown Barcelona. The room was modern and comfortable with large bed and separate seating area. As others have mentioned, it can get warm even in winter, so I left the windows open each night - the local traffic didnt bother me and it's nice that the hotel is on a one-way side street. Not too many amenities onsite - a small gym, outside pool. That was fine for me as I was attending a conference and rarely in the hotel itself. The closest metro (Hospital Clinic) is 10-12 minutes away. A small market is 50 yards from the hotel.

Rooms are not bad .. some challenges with sound insulations specially if you open windows from other close guest rooms .. as a Hilton diamond member I was not recognized and my benefits were not given smoothly .. However a very nice and kind person front desk made a big difference in balancing things out .. her name is Laura .. very good human being and very professional in her job .. her energy and human interaction is great and made us much more comfortable and feeling we are at home.. she deserve all the best
