Great location but terrible customer service when there's a problem

Checking in went smoothly and the front desk who checked us in on 1/31 in the morning was very friendly and helpful; she was even able to check us in early. All was great until our third night on Thursday 1/2. The hotel was doing some plumbing work and our water got shut off without any notification. We called the front desk around 5:45pm and the woman who worked said it would be turned on in half an hour. Nope. I had to call the front desk again and she said she would find out from her colleague and called me back in 10. Nope. I had to go downstairs to find out. The front desk woman who has blonde hair (didn't get her name) was neither helpful nor empathetic whatsoever. She actually seemed annoyed and was giving me all these excuses that didn't make any sense. She said it was the neighborhood doing repair hence it wasn't only our hotel was affected with water being shut off and they had no idea the water was shut off, even tho we saw some people on the rooftop working on the plumbing. On top of that, since we were preparing the worst case scenario of moving to a different hotel, we called the hotel across the street and asked about the water, and guess what, they have their water running! They even seemed weirded out that I asked if their water is working. We left for dinner and just crossing our fingers the water will be turned on, since the blonde woman at the front desk now told me it would be turned back on in 20 minutes. Nope. Instead, we found a bottle of wine but water still off. It was midnight and I had to go downstairs again, talking to the night front desk. He seemed clueless and gave me some different excuses, but I told him I'd be checking out tomorrow if it's not fixed tonight. He sent a maintenance guy to fix it and by the time it was fixed, it was almost 2am! I wish instead of sending us a bottle of wine (which we returned btw), they would check the water and fixed it before we came back! No apology or acknowledgment from management. Poor communication and not what we expected from a 4 stars hotel. Also the bathroom has this metal towel bar that's broken and part of the metals were sticking out and they were sharp. My pants actually got caught and ripped.

A short stay in a vibrant part of Barcelona

I stayed at Granados 83 during a short business trip to Barcelona and chose it for its central location in a quiet neighborhood. The hotel is stylish and cozy, with friendly and welcoming staff. The surrounding area feels safe and offers easy walking access to numerous points of interest as well as convenient public transport connections. An excellent choice for a brief visit to Barcelona!

THIS HOTEL RUINED OUR BARCELONA EXPERIENCE

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We did not expect that we will experience flooding in a 4star hotel. When we arrived from our day tour and we noticed that there was water dripping from the upper bedroom since we are on the bilevel family suite. We called frontdesk and told them, the nice lady staff entered the room and told us she will call for repair but since it’s the weekends it might take a while and told us we can move to another room if they can’t fix it. Since it’s night time we need to find dinner but we cannot just leave the room so we need someone to wait for the repair and two in our group will buy dinner. When we arrived probably around 30minutes the repair man just came the same time as we returned. So we have to eat our dinner in a very uncomfortable manner seeing the leak from above while panicking since our luggages and belongings are getting wet already. So without finishing my bread and coffee, I went to the frontdesk and told them that we cannot stay in our room anymore and the night shift lady staff told us that we have to wait to let it fix or they can move us to a premium room. The butler interrupted us and told us that we should not worry since the water leaking is clean and not coming from toilet. Even we told them that our things are getting wet already. So we said that we wanted to be moved so she called the manager and they talked for about 15 minutes. They told us that they will help us transfer our luggages and when we went to the new room it was not a premium room but just a standard room. Plus they insisted that they will give us a free champagne since we are celebrating my birthday. We have to immediately packed all our things. Then when we went to the new room which has a foul smell in the bathroom. They knocked and gave us complimentary water. The next day when we spoke to the morning guy staff in the front desk he asked if we liked our new new room and we told them that it has a foul smell he started to look like he got mad. Well, all we can say is that first the leak was not our fault and please don’t book the family suite or the room in the fourth floor or you’ll end up like us completely ruined barcelona trip especially since we were celebrating my birthday.
