At the Hotel Miramar Barcelona, such luxurious living is just another day. Came here contemplating booking it out for a celebration next summer. A shame they play their music so obnoxiously loud that the entire park, even those enjoying peaceful recreation and admiring the views, can hear. Such a great lack of respect.

The ABSOLUTE WORST hotel experience of my life. I booked this place for my friends and family for a week, expecting a five-star experience. Instead, it felt like a cheap motel pretending to be luxurious. From the moment we arrived, we realized the hotel was undergoing major renovations—a detail that was never mentioned on their website or communicated to us beforehand. This was incredibly misleading and downright unacceptable. The renovations meant that key facilities, like the spa, were completely inaccessible. Yet, we were still charged full price, as if we were staying in a fully functional, high-end hotel. No compensation, no discounts, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience—nothing. The lack of commitment to guest satisfaction was shocking. As if that weren’t enough, there was NO room service, NO bellboy, and absolutely NO basic hospitality. After a long day of shopping, we had to drag a trolley full of bags all the way to our room by ourselves. Completely unacceptable for a so-called “five-star” hotel. The rooms smelled horrendous, like something had been rotting for weeks. The odor made it impossible to feel comfortable or relaxed, and it completely ruined the experience. Honestly, there’s nothing here that justifies the insane prices they charge. It’s a complete scam, and I am beyond disappointed. Save your money and your sanity—stay anywhere else but here.

We chose this hotel because we wanted a hotel next to the cruise ports. Upon arriving by taxi to the hotel, we waited in the lobby a long time to speak to the receptionist about getting our room. They greet you to water or champagne upon waiting, and once we got to talk to someone, they then told us our room wouldn’t be ready til 3. So we probably waited a good 45 minutes. Okay we’ll go have lunch on their beautiful veranda overlooking the ports. We ordered Kobe burgers and they came out raw, so they had to redo those, which once we got them after another long wait, they were really good. Finally got our room. It wasn’t a room w a balcony like we thought, nevertheless, it was a very large room, with a huge bathroom and it overlooked the front of the hotel. The room is very quiet with high grade amenities and we enjoyed our stay. The service here is a bit slow but overall it’s a nice place. We might stay here again, but would probably try some other place just for something different. The views are nice and yes if you walk into town to get anything, you have a couple of very steep hills. It was manageable for us 60-70 year olds. But if you aren’t in shape, don’t take the walk. Overall, we’d give this place a 8/10.

I went to have a café con leche and sat at one of the four tables that are not even on the property, but rather are below it, overlooking the sea. My two little dogs (3kg and 8kg) were with me, on leashes. One of the wait-staff saw me almost immediately, but when neither he nor any of his colleagues came to the table, after twenty minutes, I waved to get his attention. A few moments later, a waiter approached. I said "Buenos días" and he responded that dogs are not allowed. The tables are placed on dirt, and are not on the hotel property. Absolutely ridiculous and appalling. I have just read other reviews prior to writing this one, and see that there are many complaints about the service and attitude at this hotel. I strongly encourage you to go anywhere else.

I was really worried about staying here after reading the reviews! I needn't have worried as they do not in any way reflect was we came across when we stayed. The hotel is modern, clean and on the hill so the views of Barcelona are phenomenal. The staff were friendly, accommodating and couldn't do enough for us. Our room was spacious, clean and every day when we came back there were complimentary chocolates waiting for us! The swimming pool area was clean too. Please don't worry about staying here as you will have a lovely time!
