Open your eyes to verdant tree-lined streets, a vibrant atmosphere embracing the arts, and the beautiful sunshine and weather of the Mediterranean, as you arrive at the Hotel Sofia. Located in the heart of Barcelona's bustling shopping and business center, and just minutes from the sea, you will experience this city in style. Plush rooms are bright and inviting, crafted with soft pastel tones and dark, rich wood furniture and accents. Sunlight streams through large picture windows, while city views and the Mediterranean in the distance will take your breath away. Luxurious bathrooms offer complete serenity, while all the modern amenities and services leave you feeling like royalty. Relax and enjoy all that Barcelona has to offer from the lap of luxury at the Hotel Princess Sofia.
Wake to a beautiful day on your first morning, and enjoy a fabulous breakfast at Contraste Restaurant or at iQ smart fresh food, with a menu carefully designed by a nutritionist. Venture out for the day to discover this amazing city, and start with a stroll down the famed La Rambla. Enjoy fantastic and eclectic shopping, vibrant street performances, and delightful cafés where you can sit, relax and people watch. Make your way to La Sagrada Familia, a magnificent temple designed by Anton Gaudi and begun in 1881, where you can marvel at its massive structure, which is still being constructed today. Continue on to Gaudi's psychedelic Park Guell, on a hill overlooking the city, and enjoy a pleasantly strange afternoon amongst serpentine benches, brilliant tile mosaics, giant decorative lizards, and gingerbread-styled houses. In the afternoon stop in at a lovely café for a true taste of Barcelona and enjoy fabulous fresh seafood and pintxos, the delightful tapas-styled local snacks. Take the rest of the afternoon to relax with a sail along the Mediterranean coast, or be moved by an astounding performance at the Gran Teatre del Liceu or L'Auditori. That night, return to the hotel for a well-deserved massage at AQUA Diagonal Spa, then enjoy a fun-filled dinner in the hotel's very own German Biergarten. At Hotel Sofia, every day is truly this magical.

This hotel is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. The staff are the friendliest and most efficient. The check in was fast and helpful. The concierge was extremely helpful with directions and information. The suite we stayed in was extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and it had everything you could think of. I had poached eggs made to order. There’s a metro station a few minutes walk away and it’s easy to make your way to Barcelona centre.

5 star all the way from the building to the lobby, the restaurants ( rooftop/breakfast !) amazing suite, and most important, cultured, attentive staff. We would have stayed longer to enjoy all the amenities, but we had to move on. Look forward to our next visit to Barcelona and the Grand Hyatt.

The staff was accommodating upon our arrival. The elevators are unusual: you select the floor of your room, and the display tells you which of the 4 elevators to take; they is no need to touch anything inside the elevator. There is a club lounge on the top floor, although the offerings are limited. The hotel has a decent breakfast. For Hyatt Club members, in the evening the hotel offers wine and beer as well as a variety of food, enough to make a meal if you so choose. The concierge was helpful. Our suite was spacious and modern, with automatic drape opening and closing. The suite lacked some common sense touches such as racks for hand towels, however. The hotel is located near the university and is not near La Sagrada Familia or Las Ramblas. It is near restaurants and shopping, however.

2 weeks after check out, WOH points and stay credit were not yet posted to my account. I requested the missing points via WOH site form. 2 weeks after that there was still no points or stay credit posted. Spoke to WOH representative who asked for a copy of the bill. As I did not receive an email copy I asked the hotel if they could send one. The request was done by email and after 6 days still no word or copy of the bill from the hotel. I sent another, and still nothing. I called the hotel. 45 minutes later, the manager explained to me that "because a portion of the hotel bill was paid in cash, they cannot confirm that I paid the entirety myself" which then makes my stay "ineligible for a credit as per the WOH terms" I tried to go through WOH and was told "it's up to the hotel on whether they will credit the points or not" Approximately $3000USD bill of which 300EUR was paid in cash. Fine, I asked that the $2700 be credited and they may omit the other 300. Still a hard NO. If you're thinking of paying part of your bill in cash and you care about points and stay credit - don't. Hope that helps. (If the hotel is reading this, save your prewritten canned response and please don't respond. I'm not following up on this any further)
