InterContinental Barcelona

I have stayed in this hotel whenever I have come to Barcelona. Have always found it to be welcoming and friendly. Hotel is amazing, comfortable bed, pillows the right amount of fluffy. Restaurant has great service. The service from Cabot, Karima and Rilben was second to none.

From start to finish, our stay was exceptional—this is now my favorite hotel, and I can’t wait to return! We spent a few days in a one-bedroom suite, and the staff recognized our IHG status, checking us in at the club lounge with champagne, thanks to Paula. She arranged a beautiful suite with a connecting room and stunning views. The only issue was the heating in the living room, but they addressed it promptly. Club lounge access is a must, offering drinks all day, a great breakfast, and afternoon tapas—though a wider selection and more hot dishes would be ideal. The garden is a lovely touch, and the hotel’s ESG commitment feels genuine. The spa’s thermal circuit is the best I’ve experienced, though it closes at 8 PM. Massages were professional and caring, and the 24-hour gym is well-equipped. However, accessing the spa requires walking past corporate event rooms in robes, which feels awkward unless you change there. The rooftop pool isn’t heated, so we couldn’t use it, but the views of Barcelona are stunning—perfect for summer. Gloria in the club lounge checked us out and noted our feedback. Beautiful big hotel. The breakfast team at ARREL was excellent. Cahit, Marcel, Daniel, Paz, Karina ( can’t remember all their names) thank you for your hospitality. The hotel’s location didn’t bother me. It was easy to get to the centre. My only negative experience was at Gebre bar and with concierge.

Very nice hotel in center of Barcelona. Great breakfast. Limited options for vegetarian food in breakfast. Staff is pleasant and very nice. The Fira (old ground) and palacios are close by. You can walk to Sagrada familia at your own pace. It’s two kms.
