Reviews for Melia Barcelona Sky

Not worth the money you pay. Rooms need TLC!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Just returned from a short stay in Barcelona. This hotel is about 30mins taxi ride from the airport. It is in a quieter location, about 45 mins walk to main part or €10ish in taxi. We didn’t get on metro so can’t comment on that. Ummmm would I stay here again? I don’t think I would… the rooms are shabby and need repairs doing for general wear and tear. Grouting mouldy around shower, paint scuffed on doors and skirtings, toilet roll holder coming off the wall, light fixing loose from ceiling, sliding wardrobe stiff making it difficult to open and floor panels loose with gaps in the floor. Cleaning could also be better; side tables dusty and hair left in shower and bath when we arrived. Spa is a complete waste of money! The steam room wasn’t working and the jacuzzi was freezing! It’s also very small so in busier periods it would be very uncomfortable. We expected much more from this hotel considering the money we paid.

Perfect Boujee retreat

We visited in Aug 23 but had forgotten to post a review! We had the best time staying at this hotel. We'd booked last minute (literally 4 days before). As a family of 4 with 2 teenage girls (18 & 15) it had everything we needed. We'd booked (unbeknown to us) The Level package which gave us access to the pool and the all day Buffett and snacks on the upper floors, this was life saving and for our first package holiday in 15 years (we'd always been self catering in villas) was just such a treat. We had a welcome pack on arrival which in itself was a lovely token. The staff were polite, friendly and couldn't do enough for you, we did have a few continuing issues in our room but these were addressed immediately and couldn't fault the service. The rooms were modern, clean, tidy and a pleasure to stay in. The beach is approx a 10 minute walk as is a big westfields style shopping centre and a street of restaurants and bars. The hotel is a good 15 minute car journey away from the main town centre, taxis and buses are plentiful and the metro is a 10 min walk away, if you're looking for a good location but in a quieter part of Barcelona then this is a great spot.

Melia Sky Level

I have already reviewed the hotel under the Melia Sky Level page. Just trying to upload some photos I was not able to do at that time. Good Hotel in a good location. Good staff especially those in the restaurant areas. Rooms great but one or two worries over the soundproofing.

Convenient location, average hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

During our August stay, we booked a family accommodation but ended up with two connected rooms instead, as the hotel layout did not allow for true family rooms. When checking in, the staff was inflexible and simply assigned us the rooms available. The first night, the air conditioning in our initial room did not work properly. We requested a room change, and guest services representative Sara was incredibly helpful. She moved us to a larger, cleaner room on a higher floor the next day. While the hotel itself is rather dated and dull in its decor, with an odd use of stainless steel walls, the staff made our stay more pleasant. In addition to Sara, Adrian from guest experience provided great recommendations for local attractions. The on-site dining options are limited, with only a ground-floor restaurant serving below-average breakfast. However, the hotel's location is convenient, with easy access to metro stations and major attractions. Overall, while the hotel itself did not meet our expectations, the attentive service from staff members like Sara and Adrian helped salvage our stay. If revisiting Barcelona, we would likely choose a different accommodation.

MELIA Barcelona Sky Hotel review

The hotel cleanliness was fine the service and amenities were limited. The rooms had not enough towels to use & if you needed to have a plate or a wine- bottle opener, or a butter knife brought to your room there would be an additional room service charge. The breakfast buffet was limited & a lots fruit flies were hovering around.
