Good first experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

The scenery is nice and the villa is well maintain. The people working here are very nice and helpful. Kudos to Arif and other staff member for their top notched service to make us feel very welcome. Buggy service was also on time and fun. 10/10 services, view and overall experience was perfect. I would definitely bring my family back here again.

Exceptional service standards

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Highly recommended as the service standards were exceptional and consistent. Every staff is very polite and friendly. Very relaxing place due to the location which makes the stay very exclusive and high class. Well the facilities can be more well maintained ( such as indoor pool can be a little dirty, mould/leakage due to the high humidity), all of these are not deal breaker for us as our stay is very pleasant. Kudos to FO staff Okta and transport staff Riyan for the very warm hospitality which made our stay very enjoyable ! Will come back again ! Recommended to visit during dry seasons so the plans is not disrupted by the wet weather.

Company Retreat @ Montigo

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

This is our second year back at Montigo Retreat, and it was just as amazing as the first! A huge thank you to Shaun and Ishii for their seamless communication and ensuring that all arrangements followed my agenda perfectly. Thank you to everyone at Montigo Resort for your exceptional hospitality during our stay. A special shoutout to the housekeeping team for their outstanding service, and a heartfelt thanks to Musri going above and beyond to assist us throughout our retreat. Also, special mention to the buggy staff —very helpful and friendly, even in the rain! Just a small feedback—during our stay, it rained heavily for a few days, and unfortunately, many rooms experienced water leakage. I hope this issue can be addressed to ensure an even better experience in the future. Looking forward to next visit! :)

Amazing and friendly staffs and good facilities

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Comfortable beds and 2 bedroom villa size was massive with nice seaview. Breakfast was great with big spread. Amazing and friendly staffs throughout the villa. The only downside was villa pool does not have any retractable awning so on heavy rainy days we are not able to enjoy the pool and the pool dining area was wet throughout those rainy days stay.

2 Star Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

In my honest opinion this resort was not worth the money. It has nice aspects about it such as the views from the rooms, the spa and the room was pretty good in terms of comfortability. Unfortunately you are very secluded from anything so once you are here you’re stuck. The food is extremely expensive for what it is. You will be spending at least $100AUD per meal not including any alcoholic beverages for two and that is not including the 10% service charge and also the 11% government charge. They do have a shop on site if you need anything in emergency such as sunscreen but you will be paying $40AUD and the bottle had definitely been open before and watered down or just expired. A gym was advertised but on arrival it was a very small outdoor gym in which the two machines were rusted and not working properly. There was no other equipment. Also there is no pool table which we had seen in pictures. They said they needed to get rid of the pool table after Covid as well as the completely enclosed fully functioning gym. I would say if you are travelling with young children it may be good as they have a lot of children activities but these also cost a decent amount of money. Though it looks like there is a beach you can relax at the beach is covered in trash and the water is not swimmable as there is a lot of oil in it from the ports. In addition to these let downs, after it rained for two days my partner and I noticed water coming thru the ceiling and when we came back to the room in the evening someone had come in and tried to cover the water marks with paint which was over our bed. The blinds also fell off the wall when trying to open them on the first day. It’s a shame as it is very expensive to stay here the quality was just not acceptable. I’ve tried to upload photos but it insists that the internet connection is not strong enough. Will try to upload later.
