I have stayed at the ritz calrton over ten times already and everytime it has been a wonderful experience with the nicely decorated rooms and attentive and efficient service. This time I decided to have dinner at their executive lounge. Whilst grabbing food off the extensive buffet, I accidentally used the same serving spoon to pick up both a beef based dish and a mutton based dish. Coincidentally the chef was standing next to me at the time and he very apologetically reminded me that I should not use the same utensils to pick up a beef based and lamb based food at the same time as some people have religious reasons and may not consume one of them. I apologized for my mistake but he was very apologetic about having to point out my error in which he was completely in the right. Very impressed with the chefs professionalism and knowledge of international customs. Little actions like these goes to show the rigorous training and standards that the staff go through and you know you will be well looked after staying at this hotel

We were here for a special culinary journey tailor made for our guests. The hotel was excellent with providing support in advance of our event that took in three different locations around the hotel. Messages were deal with promptly and professionally. A big shout out to Victor Wang and Jun Ming. On the night of the event, Chef Billy and his team did a fabulous job presenting dishes of high quality and visual appeal. The Sea bass in particular was beautiful. I also want to mention the Executive Pastry Chef, Shakira, whose tiramisu was so unique. Lastly, the ladies and gentlemen serving our dishes and drinks really took service up a notch. Thank you to everyone.

I visited the hotel from 11-Sep to 13 Sep for 2 days. I requested club lounge access for 1 day as I expect the high standard hospitality for Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge even though it requires extra 446 RMB. I have enjoyed Ritz-Carlton in Tokyo, Fukuoka, and Singapore before. Room and breakfast was good quality. However the club lounge was definitely not recommended. Wine there was only 1 option for red and white both are from Chile. Champagne was not available and even sparkline wine was hidden. Meal quality was less than the lounge of other Marriott group hotels. I stayed at JW Marriott Beijing for 3 days before this stay, and the quality of lounge was just same. Well, JW Marriott BJ had sparkline wine there. And free access with platinum member ship. I know this can not be compared with the member ship, but this club lounge access was not worth to pay any money. Apart from dinner time, morning and lunch meal presentation was also not good quality. I should have stayed this hotel without knowing this low quality lounge... I would recommend stay but without club lounge.

For transparency, this review is based on our expectation and history with the Ritz-Carlton brand as a premier level in the Starwood chain. This hotel falls very far short of our expectation and the value for the price paid. The concierge rotated several people throughout our 3 night stay of which 1 spoke English well enough to communicate effectively. Front desk was better but for local making arrangements, this U.S. hotel brand evidently can't hire English speaking concierge. Pool is very poorly setup and the floor is falling apart. There was a smell of cigarette smoke in our room which was likely coming from the room downstairs. Rather than check that room, their solution was to crack open a window in our room, the window had no handle so we couldn't close it. The result was us being woke up at 3am for the balance of the morning by construction outside. The only bar in the hotel was closed on Saturday night for a private party. There is evidently an outside bar but that is under construction (see above noise issue) leaving no bar in the hotel on a Saturday night. Nice choice! Not! We wanted to go to Minju duck restaurant for dinner. The concierge told us they don't take reservations. We went to the restaurant and were asked if we had a reservation. We then had to wait 2 hours for a table because the concierge was misinformed. By the time we sat down at 10pm, my wife had no interest in food and barely ate. She loves duck and was why we went to this restaurant. Terrible concierge. I would never go to this hotel again, very disappointing and quality was more like a Days Inn than the Ritz.

This is a classic hotel in a good place. The location is convenient, connected to the metro and a big upmarket mall. Room was quite big in size, clean and well maintained. Breakfast was adequate with oriental and western food. The only thing was the aircon. It wasn't cold enough during my stay and i couldn't adjust the temperature neither. Staff were all helpful and caring.
