Named for famed 19th century naturalist, Charles Telfair, Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort, Mauritius embodies beauty and elegance while celebrating its natural, unspoiled backdrop adrift in the Indian Ocean. Stretched across 15 acres atop the sandy shores of Bel Ombre Beach, Heritage Le Telfair's intimate village design includes 20 villas, each with 6-8 rooms that enjoy breathtaking beach views, private balconies, and floor-to-ceiling windows that permit abundant natural light to flow into the expansive living quarters. With design inspired by the French Colonial period on the island, rooms are outfitted with dark wood, over sized four-poster beds, lavish drapery and textiles, and a soft palette of light blue, green, and brown hues. En-suite bathrooms include claw-foot tubs in suites, walk-in showers, spacious dressing facilities, and plush bathrobes. At Heritage Le Telfair the smallest details are handled with the greatest care, because your comfort, pleasure, and experience are top priority.

I have given it 4 stars instead of 5 as we were hoping for a lot more for our children to do on the water and hadn't realised it was so windy and a kite surfers paradise! So not ideal for paddle boarding kayaking or snorkelling as we had hoped for our 8 and 10 year old. BUT a gorgeous resort with amazing beaches and views and location on the estuary and sea. Stunning colonial style, incredible choice or restaurants and foods, lovely vibe, and we were all happy. I would have loved for there to be more activities for our age of children, as the creche had been combined with the kids club so ours didn't want to go. And also the re construction of the main restaurant and bar on the beach meant that it lacked the beach vibe in the evening and for lunches... But the golf course being so close was a bonus, and we went walking or cycling there every day - and played some golf too!

Great resort, wonderful service, lovely people, fantastic value for money - go fully inclusive! Good choice of restaurants, Ginja the best. Option to visit sister hotel as well - walking distance. Golf wonderful, La Reserve a real challenge to even the best!

Great hotel and really liked the location on a quiet and shallow beach with an interesting reef. Telfaire seemed much quieter than Awali which seemed to have a bit more of a central focus point and more of a vibe. The one thing they really do need to change is the way restaurants are booked. This really confused us (and others we spoke to). Basically they put you in a Whatsapp group with someone who books restaurants for you. I wonder whether they prioritise people on HB or GB packages as we were frequently told restaurants were full. I suppose that's because they're catering for people from Telfair, Awali and the Villas who can book across any of them. We tried to book days ahead to make sure we got into restaurants we wanted as we didn't like the buffet at Annabelle's and felt it was really overpriced. It was a real struggle to force our liaison to book restaurants in advance; he preferred to do it on the day which meant many were booked. We also had no idea which restaurants were available; the best O'Grill we only heard about at the end of our stay. If they want to continue using Whatsapp and liaisons then they need to 1) Give you information on exactly which restaurants can be booked 2) Encourage you to make reservations in advance and then booked them well ahead of the day. Other than the hotel is great and I'd recommend it.

Good choices for buffet breakfast.Sea view suites are lovely and would advise over garden suites , large rooms with everything you would expect and need.
