About the Hotel

The riverfront Meliá Berlin is a top pick among business travelers because of The Level, a seventh floor, royal red executive club with meeting rooms and special perks. Leisure travelers also love Meliá for its convenient location and unusually colorful rooms. There’s no dull beige-and-taupe color scheme here: Fuchsia headboards and pillows pop against mint carpet, and the effect is light and cheerful. Berlin’s top attractions are a brief train ride away – you can be at the Berlin Wall Memorial in six minutes, and the five internationally renowned institutions on Museum Island are just 10 minutes away.

Reviews for Melia Berlin

Beautiful hotel in the tourist centre

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Really beautiful hotel in the heart of the tourist area of Berlin. Hotel staff are pleasant and welcoming. Rooms were huge compared to what we expected. The pillows are really soft - ended up making them more supportive by adding the supplied robe as a base. We were offered to upgrade to The Level when we arrived - expensive upsell but provides access to free food and drinks throughout the day.

One of the worst hotels I ever experienced

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The bed covers are too short when you're tall like me (just under 2 meters). Bedside tables are dirty to a level the land line phone was stuck to one. The shower is either so strong it hurts or is delicate to manage in temperature. Shower hose was improperly fixed so at first more water was going in all directions but out of the shower head. The stop in the sink in the bathroom wasn't functioning properly causing thw sink to drain very slowly unless you partly disassemble the stop. Wifi is so slow that even reading email takes a while. Browsing webpages sometimes doesn't work. Watching a movie online or doing a video call I'm not even trying.

OK but not as good as expected

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Having visited a Melia hotel in Lanzarote, and booked it again, we hoped that Melia Berlin would offer a similar experience. Sadly we were disappointed. The location is certainly central but being on the corner of a busy crossroads and bridge ,the room was noisy with traffic and sirens. The area around the nearby station does not feel particularly safe at night. We booked directly with the hotel, by phone, but on arrival were told that if we wanted a double bed it was an additional 15 euros per night. We got stuck in the lift going to our room because we were not told that the lifts operate after using the room card. One lift has two sets of buttons and we used thde wrong set. When we eventually got just to the first floor we had to go back to reception and were only then told how to operate the lift. The hotel should cover up the set of buttons which don't work properly. The room was clean and the bed comfortable but it was too hot and stuffy. There were no instructions about the air con. There was no English breakfast tea and we had to keep asking for more tiny sachets of milk. Along with other guests we were wandering around on the first floor looking for the breakfast room as reception did not tell us that it can only be reached by a second lift. The tables in the breakfast room are uncomfortably close together. We had a free drink at the bar with part of our booking but we were surprised that this was limited to just red or white wine.

Birthday trip

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

I celebrated my birthday at the hotel. It was amazing. We were greeted by friendly staff. Our room was lovely and clean. Added suprise was a cake and bottle of bubbly on arrival. It was a great location, on a direct line from the airport and walking distance from most of the sights. Lovely restaurants close by and bars too. The hotel itself had a delicious restaurant and bar. Staff were super attentive. Facilities at the hotel were perfect. Would stay here again.

The Level Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This is our second stay at the Melia and it did not disappoint. We booked room only but on arrival the receptionist offered us a deal to upgrade to The Level, which we did and it was worth every Euro, this included a buffet breakfast, drinks up until 9pm and a light evening buffet. I am a Melia card holder but had never stayed on the level and it was an experience I will repeat. The hotel was aware that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and left a bottle of Fizz in our room as a present. A great break in a great city staying at a great hotel.
