Lovely visit, would recommend and stay again

Lovely hotel, well situated to visit Brandenburg Gate (5min walk), Frederickstrase and underground right outside the main door. Staff were professional, friendly and attentive. Food in the hotel was good, breakfast buffet was suitable and met our expectations. Any requests we had were met well. Felt safe staying here and visiting the area. We loved the automatic/mini robot hoovers.

Superb location, right at the Unter den Linden U-bahn station. Close to key museums, shopping. Staff helpful and friendly. Good breakfast. Quiet rooms, quite comfortable, good noise control. Good lighting. I have only one recommendation for the hotel, which is to put grab-bars in the shower, as a matter of safety.

October midterm break

Stayed for 4 nights during Halloween midterm. We arrived late on a Saturday night and were given a lovely room on the 4th floor however immediately on entering the room it was very warm and the aircon/fan unit was not working. We immediately called reception and were shown a room on the top floor which had a working fan and stayed here instead. The gentleman who moved our room was friendly and very courteous. The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable. Rooms were cleaned daily and still water bottles also replaced daily. The branded bathroom products were good and shampoo and conditioner were provided. Breakfast was good and had plenty to choose from. Overall it’s a comfortable hotel in a quiet & central location.

Excellent location, but not a 5 star hotel

Stayed here for the marathon... location is excellent for the start/finish and sightseeing. As one of the other reviewers said, "it's a good hotel that won't wow you". I felt obligated to leave this review since it claims to be a 5 star hotel. It is not. It is clean, good location, ok food, pretty good customer service. Would I stay here again? It depends.. for the marathon yes, excellent location... for a luxury vacation, I would probably look somewhere else.

I expect better from a Westin

In general, the place is good. It’s very clean, it’s a very nice building, beds are very comfy, location is prime and breakfast is varied and good. Now, it’s a Westin and I have an expectation, so here’s why I gave it 3/5 stars. 1. The personnel at the bar were few and not so attentive. I don’t like to feel that I need to insist a waiter to attend me. 2. Phone service to the lobby from the room was very poor. We asked for ice to put on a swollen ankle and they brought ice with a paper bag at first and then replaced it with a leaking sealed plastic with more water than ice. Also, we asked for room service around midnight and we got it almost at 1am with a missing item and a “bolognese” without ground meat, not sure if that’s how tomato sauce spaghetti is called here or if they forgot it. 3. The air conditioner didn’t work the first night. We reported it and we think it got fixed, but since the controller is analog, we’re not quite sure, it felt comfier after, but not quite cooler. Anyway, no communication about it. 4. Lastly, we ran out of the refillable body wash in the shower the first night and they never refilled it. When we told the cleaning lady who didn’t speak English, all she did was to leave an additional soap in the bathroom.
