Feels like you've entered the Twilight Zone

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

This hotel is one of the worst I have ever stayed at. It's like entering the Twilight Zone. Outdated decor, run down, paint peeling, dirty carpet and everything worn out. It is in desperate need of renovation. The room looks like something out of a cheap boudoir, with the shower dripping, no way to fill the bathtub, insufficient light, only one towel, and the feeling that this place has been abandoned. Avoid at all costs. There are no services, you're on your own. I won't be coming back.

Pretty Exterior

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Beverley Hills and is a short walk from Rodeo Drive. At first glance, the hotel exterior was very pretty. We were warmly welcomed, however, when we checked in at around 4pm, the room was not ready (check in is 3pm). This was fine and we waited on the sofas by the bar. The receptionist explained the facilities of the hotel as well as the facilities available at their sister hotel (Mosaic hotel). The hotel had taken a security deposit from us which we were happy with and it was explained that the balance would be refunded upon check-out. After our trip, we noticed that we were only partially refunded. We tried contacting the hotel on multiple occasions to query this but it proved very difficult to get a response. When the hotel eventually responded, it was hotel taxes which were deducted. We completely understood that we needed to pay taxes but would've appriciated it if this was explained to us, as we would've preferred to pay via a different payment method. The hallway leading to our room was very dark and had a 'musty' smell. The carpets were stained and ripped, they could do with an update. The room itself was spacious with a large bed and ensuite bathroom. The room was not cleaned whilst we were staying, this service had to be requested, if required. The room also had the same 'musty' smell as the hallway. I do not think this hotel is 4* as stated.

Friendly People Filthy Room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Friendly and helpful reception staff could not make up for how filthy the room was. No extras beyond bed, bathroom, tv. The carpets were dirty, worn, and had holes. "Romantic" as a descriptor feels like code language. It's a shame because the people are really nice. Little bar area and live music. Also, $45 per night parking. You might ask why the room was accepted and not changed, but there is no excuse for renting that level of disrepair.

Disappointing customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Me and my friend stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in September. Our room was spacious and had a comfy bed. We had an issue with the toilet at first but this got fixed and seemed to be fine after. However, the hotel is very dated. The carpets in the hallway are very warn and the cleanliness of the room was below average. When checking in we paid a deposit on my credit card. This deposit was held on my card and then returned back to me. However, since then I have noticed that money has been taken from my card and not paid back. I have tried to contact the hotel a number of times and have been unsuccessful. This is extremely disappointing and not very good customer care. This matter will have to be taken further if we do not receive any contact from the hotel.

Extremely in need of updating and maintenance

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Carpets in the hallway worn out. The wallpaper was peeling. The Awnings outside our windows were completely in tatters, fabric almost gone.

Everything you would need was in the room. We enjoyed this hotel so much - definitely recommended.
