A solid hotel downtown-highly walkable location!
This hotel has two restaurant on site, a nicer restaurant with a bar and a diner. It is super walkable to all the great dining and drinking options on Montana Ave.! There are also lots of other cafes, restaurants, and bars in walking distance. The lobby is gorgeous, parking is free and convenient, and there is valet service, if that’s your thing. Staff treated us so well!

A very comfortable room, quiet; well decorated lobby area for holiday with upscale chairs and fireplace; a warm reception; newspapers to read; lovely bar/restaurant with good food; and connected to excellent breakfast spot - all right downtown with valet if needed

Very happy to return to Billings' Best Hotel
I returned to The Northern Hotel for Thanksgiving week this year and was very happy I chose this splurge. The front desk showed me a couple rooms on the highest floor and I chose room 1004. The evening lighting in my room was lovely and the morning views outside the large south and east facing windows were incredible. I hung out at the Ten bar two evenings and got excellent craft cocktails from the talented mixologist. Other times I went to the great coffee shops and restaurants a short walk away from the Northern. There were a couple small service glitches but the beds are still super comfortable, the room cleaners did an excellent job, and the parking valets were very convenient. They are not the cheapest but The Northern is clearly the best hotel in Billings. I am very happy about my stay. I'll be back.

Disappointed
Staff not super friendly. Standard 2-queen very small. No room in bathroom to put toiletries. TV on wall is a hazard for hitting your head. Huge vase of Flowers in the lobby were dead - not very welcoming We were not offered a complimentary drink as promised The good? Location Clean towels and sheets Bed was firm but comfortable Lobby coffee was good Free valet and parking

Montana Small Rural Hospital convention. Northern Hotel
We found this historic Hotel customer lovingvftim the first step. Valet folks welcomed us with complimentary valet, opened doors, helped with our luggage. Check in was a breeze, friendly and helpful. The rooms are really nice, could use desk chair update, and second chair update. Maintenance was there in moments ti fix a small item. Housekeeping was the best I've seen in many years. Highly recommend.
