Reviews for Kempinski Hotel Barbaros Bay Bodrum

Nice Beach, Hotel Needs a lot of Work.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The hotel is located in a secluded bay with a beautiful beach, about a 40 minute drive to most good small towns scattered around Bodrum. It is a great place if you are looking for a quite holiday, but do not expect to be close to restaurants etc. The hotel itself looks quite aged. Rooms, bathrooms, facilities all look like they need a serious upgrade. It is a very large hotel on an even larger piece of land and years have not been good to it. The buggy shuttle to and from the beach is quite long and I can't imagine what it looks like during busy summer days. The beach itself is very nice and clean. Service at the beach though is a problem because the online menu system they had in place was not working well at all. Many orders came with the wrong items or very late despite the hotel being almost empty. The staff is doing the best day can and service and food quality was quite good.

Fabulous

Fabulous setting in a beautiful bay with clear and calm water. Buggy service to the beach takes a couple of minutes and is fun. Loads of sunbeds and no one putting towels down at 6am to save them! Beachside service is good - served by a gorgeous beach restaurant with palm fringing and lovely staff. They serve up an array of salads, poke bowls and drinks ranging from Moet to Starbucks coffee! I just wish it stayed open in the evening as we like lighter food. We had a refurbished 8th floor deluxe room with white wood furniture and a very comfortable bed. TV has a gazillion stations and there is a lavazza coffee maker with pods plus plentiful complimentary water. I practiced yoga every morning overlooking the sparkling water and it was perfect. The staff are amazing - so friendly and helpful and very warm. They sorted minor glitches instantly and with great grace. They gave great advice on Bodrum restaurants and sightseeing. They honestly could not have been any better. Now, the food. Breakfast at Olives is great - everything you would expect from a five star plus pizza to order and juice shots. My only gripe was that they didn’t do decaf coffee or soya milk or seeds for yogurt toppings. We enjoyed Villa Rossa - great menu and wine but we didn’t want to do fine dining more than once. Mama Drau, the Italian, served good salads but we both found the oven baked chicken too salty. Olives is the half board default restaurant serving mainly Turkish fare. We had some issues with this in terms of food quality and choice which we discussed with the hotel. They listened very carefully and it was significantly improved the following time we ate there. They have said they will continue with further improvements over the coming weeks. We did opt to go into town for dinner a couple of times as we had some good recommendations from the hotel and wanted to try a different scene. We recommend Kebap Guru and Memadof and we heard good things about Ili Sandal. All in all this is a fabulous place to stay - the setting and the service are the standout features. You won’t get better! Thank you to all the wonderful people who made our holiday so special.

Beautiful location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Beautiful location even though a little far from everything but has everthing you would need. Fantastic for a short stay as location is exceptional. Good size rooms and bathrooms and very comfotable rooms. Plenty of different areas to not feel overwhelmed with people and restaurants all very good. Very little english spoken (apart from reception and concierge) so very difficult to communicate and some misunderstandins with food... excellent buffet breakfast

Amazing, simply amazing

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

Following a few days in Istanbul, we rounded off my birthday celebration family trip with three days at this magnificent place. The location is absolutely amazing, quiet ambience and serenity, the service and facilities top notch, all staff extremely kind and professional, rooms (go for the grand deluxe) luxurious and spotlessly clean with to-die-for-views - and the sea exactly the turquoise nuance I had hoped for. Thank you Kempinski Barbarossa Bay, also for the delicious cake to mark the occasion.

Amazing hotel Exceptional service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I have left a review on Google last year and this is my 2nd review this year as I cannot leave multiple reviews for the same place. To begin with the hotel is set in arguably the most beautiful area of bodrum though secluded it is short drive away from town. The hotel is beautiful extremely clean and rooms are spacious with luxurious amenities and have balconies though I recommend deluxe rooms which have panoramic views which are well worth the views. The staff where to begin all knew me my wife and baby by name they provides amazing service including mustafa kemal and other two ladies at front desk who's name I don't remember, ladies in red Including Sofia, Zeynep, the helpers including Fatih, Efe ( and everyone from room mains to staff at breakfast including Hilal and Burak) are all amazing. What makes the hotel great is service, beach is the most beautiful with amazing water and food is fantastic (though a bit pricy). Kempinski has made me a permanent customer and will stay with them wherever I go especially of I come bodrum.
