EK Hotel

We loved our stay at EK Hotel in early January. We arrived ahead of normal checkin time but were given a room straight away, with lovely views. The bed was really comfortable, great shower and spacious well thought out room design. Breakfast felt very relaxed, in a much more boutique style than the average large buffet. Although the selection was a bit limited there was good changing variety every day, always good coffee and wonderful fruit, hot and cold options and attentive staff. The area around Parque 93 is safe and walkable and with a good variety of restaurants. I would not hesitate to recommend EK for a leisure stay in Bogota.

Loved this wonderful hotel perfectly located within 10 minutes of El Retiro and Park 93. Staff was so friendly and helpful. The room (junior suite with king bed) was large, great view, and well laid out for our 3 night stay. Comfy bed, great air con, terrific shower. Nespresso in room and bathrobes. Very quiet at night, right in the middle of a garden area with lots of restaurant choices. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choices (including eggs made to order). We checked out at noon on our last day and had a late breakfast. The chef was so nice, making us omelets and chatting with us. Everyone made us feel welcome. And the location superb!!

Superb stay and excellent service. Raul Castañeda really stood out every single morning during breakfast. Very professional and extremely courteous. I would definitely recommend this hotel due to its proximity to very nice restaurants and is close to everything. Again, I would like to say that Raul was commentating and very resourceful.

We got a very good deal for our three night stay in a Junior Suite. Check in and later dealings with Reception sometimes seemed long winded but overall OK. Breakfasts were inconsistent. One morning cereal and no milk (told you have to ask for the milk), next day milk is out. Small spoons go missing one morning and the next there is an issue with the tea. The breakfast hardly wows, less choice and better options might be a better way to go. On billing the normal items that it appears you ate from the minibar but never touched. Why is this still an issue in hotels? The biggest problem was the room and our was showing signs of wear. There were meant to be two televisions in the room, but there was only one although the mounting frame had been left. Another day I could not understand our iPads and phones were not charging. The room key slot for the power was the problem and as I jiggled the key the slot just fell off the wall. It went back, but clearly I was not the first to repair the issue. The suction power of the toilet was rather alarming and noisy! We’ve stayed here quite a bit over the years, both for tourism and in the past business and have recommended it widely. It is well positioned and style wise is pleasant but it does seem in need of a makeover. However it is increasingly well priced (say half the price of a property like the Sofitel) but is beginning to age. Recommended but probably worth a poke around the room before accepting it on arrival.
