Sofitel Bogota Victoria Regia

Well, let me just say that I’ve stayed here several times before in the past. And I always liked it. This time my flight was arriving very early at 7 AM. So I called the weekend in advance and saw if I could check in early. I had booked my hotel with points that I had accumulated on Expedia. I had leftover points as well so if I needed to book a second night so I could check in early I was going to do so. I called the front desk and they notified me that if I waited until the day before I could probably inquire about an early check-in. They told me that if he would apply, but it would be better I do this. I asked him if I just spoke two nights would be better and they said just wait and see until the day before. I was very happy with this and it seemed like they were trying to help me. The day before I called in and they said yes early check-in was available and to go ahead and book my night. So I booked it using my points and I had extra points available. When I arrived, they told me that the check-in early fee was $330. This was actually more than the rate online for a full night. The man at the front counter was very polite as is most of the staff. I was kind of dismayed and told him that that was a lot of money for just checking in early. He said sorry and that was the policy. I understand the fee would apply for an early check-in, but to be more than a might be rate I thought was ridiculous. The thing that drove me insane was I could’ve used my points to just book an extra night if I needed to. It’s a beautiful hotel. Staff are nice, but I will never say her again.

Arrived at the Sofitel in Bogota for the first two days of my Colombia trip (and will also be coming back in a few days for my last night in Colombia). I can’t say enough positive words about this hotel. The staff is absolutely wonderful, friendly, cheerful all the time and really helpful. Room was pristine clean, plenty of offerings at the breakfast, location wise also a very good choice. Happy to come back in a few days!

Sofitel Bogota is magnificent. It is a beautiful hotel in Zona Rosa. Bars, restaurants and shopping are walking distance. The rooms are large, well-appointed and lovely. Staff is great and very helpful. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Bogota.

We stayed at this hotel during a multi-city trip to Colombia as a couple. Check in process was quick as there was only one person ahead of us and our room was ready when we arrived. The person at front desk let us know about the restaurant on site as well as different options available to us around town. Our rooms as located in a quiet section that faced a residential courtyard. I found the room to be a bit too dim, but I think that was The ambiance the hotel was going for, and the bathroom provided better lighting for me to see and get ready in. We enjoyed the L'Occitane products that the uses as well. We went to the bar twice, once for pre dinner drinks and another time for lattes. Both times we received great service. The location is perfect walking distance to many other restaurants and to see the city in general. Unfortunately for us, the check out process wasn't as smooth as the check in process. The hotel double charged us for the room although we pre-paid in advance. In order to reverse the charges, the hotel wanted a physical credit card which then caused us to cut it very close to making our flight home. It was quite a debacle. Overall, we had a good stay (minus the check out) at the Sofitel Bogota Victoria.
