For more than 200 years the Grand Hotel de Bordeaux has been the doorway to luxury travel right in the middle of the historic center of the Gironde capital city sparking admiration and curiosity to all. A place filled with history for everyone to experience. Nostalgic French decor and UNESCO World Heritage architecture set the scene for your stay at InterContinental Bordeaux – Le Grand Hotel. We have 13 elegant meeting rooms, Le Bordeaux restaurant, a bar, a rooftop and a gourmet restaurant inspired by Gordon Ramsay. You can also relax in the indoor swimming pool or book a massage in the Guerlain Spa. To make each of your visits a real break from well-being, we have decided to write a new page. Guerlain, the prestigious house of fragrance and exceptional cosmetics, takes over the Spa at the InterContinental Bordeaux – Le Grand Hôtel. The InterContinental Bordeaux – Le Grand Hotel thanks to its location is also the doorway to all the main activities and points of interests of Bordeaux.

We stayed twice in this hotel and appreciated the service and hospitality. Location is top notch in the centre within walking distance of main historical places. Spa is small but amazing that they have been able to build into an historical building. Book in advance as even a week in advance we could not find some slots. We recommend the Michelin starred restaurant Le Pressoir d'Argent, worth to book. Rooms are very confortable, we recommend the one with the balcony offering a view on the city.

I love staying at this hotel. it is definitely the best in Bordeaux and right by the opera house and the main shopping streets. Rooms are classic in design but very clean and bed was very comfortable. Room service was slow but they were very busy. I would recommend this hotel for anyone wanting to be pampered and have everything close by.

I and 4 friends arrived at the Terrace Bar at 3pm on a Saturday and waited patiently in line to be seated at the terrace bar. People in front of us on the queue were seated. However, when we were next to be seated we were told by a waiter that there were no available tables, this despite many, many empty tables and they were not at all busy. We politely asked the staff member why they weren’t available as they clearly were, he decided then to seat us. No sooner had he seated us with menus, he returned to our table and asked us to leave and the reason given was that his manager said 5 people couldn’t sit at the one table!!!! Unbelievable.!! We then politely suggested that 2 of us sit at one table and 3 at another (again I have to stress that there were multiples of free tables). He called his manager over who was very rude and she asked us to leave. However, she (the manager) then told the waiter to seat us beside the bar. This arrogant attitude displayed by the staff here is disgraceful and very embarrassing for customers. We really should have left after this appalling behaviour but we stayed and had one awful cocktail and then left. Our group of friends are widely travelled and have never ever been treated so shoddily anywhere in the world!. Avoid this bar.

Not a 5* hotel. Room was dark and gloomy, even with all the lamps on. Shower was in the tub and very difficult/dangerous to get in and out of - we called it the death shower. Had mould on the tiles as well. Carpet needed replacing. Would have been nice to be able to open the windows and allow in some fresh air, but they were all locked. Good location - though getting a taxi in/out was a bit awkward as they had to drive around/through the square. We had an excellent meal at Pressoir d’Argent.

Our stay at the Intercontinental Le Grand Hotel Bordeaux was deeply disappointing. Without our permission, hotel staff went through our belongings and discarded several items, including the box from a luxury handbag, important tax documents needed for a VAT refund, and personal gifts. They even mixed and packed our belongings the night before our departure, which felt invasive and unsettling. Had they discarded something critical, like a passport, the consequences could have been far worse. When we raised this issue with the hotel, their response was inadequate. Despite conducting an investigation, they offered no meaningful solution or compensation for the financial loss or inconvenience we experienced. We were forced to spend our final day of vacation trying—unsuccessfully—to fix the issue, wasting time that we can never get back. This level of carelessness and poor handling was unacceptable. I expected far more from a hotel of this reputation. If you value your privacy, time, and personal belongings, I strongly recommend staying elsewhere.
