Reviews for Hotel AKA Back Bay

Perfect stay in the heart of Back Bay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel AKA Back Bay! The hotel is modern, sleek, and immaculately clean. My room was spotless, comfortable (one of the best mattresses I've slept on), and well-equipped, making it the perfect retreat after a day of traveling and exploring Boston. What really stood out to me was the incredible customer service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was flawless—everyone was friendly, attentive, and eager to help with any request. The location is also fantastic, right in the heart of Back Bay, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and attractions. I highly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness, service, and overall experience. When in Boston stay at AKA!!

10/10 complimentary bedtime offerings!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Fantastic experience! Friendly, welcoming staff greet you upon check-in. Do yourself a favor - scan the QR code on the keycard folder and check out the bedtime offerings. They offer complimentary weighted blankets, aroma therapy, various pillow types, and so much more. Truly a wonderful stay. I was on a work trip and told everyone to check the AKA out next time they're in town.

Nice surprise near Boston Common

I am a savvy business traveler and tend to stay at the larger brands. I found Aka when looking in this very specific location. I am so glad I tried a new brand (to me). Great location, very pleasing aesthetically, nice restaurant - definitely recommend!

Charming boutique 7 minutes from Amtrak station

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

If you're looking for a boutique hotel (which are not easy to come by these days), stay at AKA Back Bay. It's a 7 minute walk from the Amtrak, making it a really easy commute from New York. The staff is wonderful (ask for Ryan!) and they work extremely hard to make you feel valued. The rooms are clean and the gym is beautiful (looks freshly renovated).

A little Short of a Five

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

This moderately upscale contemporary hotel is clean, comfortable, and well located if you want to hit Boston's tourist attractions. Our room was large and well-furnished. Bed was great (best sleep in ages). No real complaints--and if you read my reviews you know I'm not shy about complaining when there's really something to complain about--but there were a few nits to point out. After a long flight, we arrived at the hotel late and by the time we got to our room it was after 2 am. The room was clean, pleasant, and we were ready to collapse. But the window blinds were up and the exterior lights from the buildings around the hotel glared into our room. Pull the blinds down, we thought. Easy enough. No, not easy enough. You needed a phone app to do it. To get the app, you need a QR code, then a visit to a blinds website, then read the instructions, decipher them, and carry out the steps needed to lower the blinds. Just what you want to do at 2 am. Why not allow guests to simply pull down the blinds? Sometimes high-tech is useless. And our Nespresso machine didn't work. No big deal, but when we told the desk clerk, he got a little snarky (lose the attitude, pal) implying we weren't tech-savvy and didn't how to work it. The tune changed when two of the hotel's techs also couldn't get the machine to work. I still don't understand why they spent 45 minutes fiddling with it when they could've just brought a second one that did work. Oh, I forgot, they did bring a second one. They couldn't get that one to work either.
