Our 3 night stay in November was marked by a series of disappointing incidents that unfortunately left us feeling underwhelmed given their reputation. The hotel has charm in abundance, and the Executive Lounge was a standout, but other forward facing staff were found lacking (multiple questions/inquiries sent by email and text went unanswered prior to check-in, a request for a coat left in a valet parked car took over 45 minutes to retrieve leaving me without a coat for an entire evening on a VERY cold day, and dysfunctional lights in our room were just a few of the issues). There are simply better options in Boston at this price point (Boston Harbor Hotel, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental),

clean, friendly staff, great hotel. I really think this is a great spot for families as it has a pool, and there were a bunch of kids at the hotel.

This hotel is beautiful in a great location downtown. It was very tasteful and cheerful the way they had decorated for the holidays! I stayed two nights in a premier king room, booked through my Amex Platinum. This is absolutely not a 5 star hotel or worth the price paid ($420/night before taxes and fees). This is a mid-range 4 star. Upon arrival, the doorman did not help with my bags getting out of my Uber, nor did he walk me to the check in counter, he did get the door and point me in the direction of the lobby desk. Checking in was quick, and I was given a sheet with all the benefits of booking through Amex- no acknowledgement of the complimentary room upgrade though- not that I was really expecting an upgrade, but would’ve been nice if they acknowledged why I didn’t get an upgrade- whether my room type was ineligible for one, no available rooms, etc. Another small detail, but door to the room behind the check-in desk was opened, and it looked dirty and disorganized. In my room there was a lovely bowl of fruit (grapes, a clementine, and an apple) and artesian water in a glass bottle, and two cans of water. There was nothing in the mini fridge (not even any of the complimentary cans of water). Additionally, the towel in the bathroom had a stain on it. Within the bathroom, there were lovely diptique toiletries, but the nozzle on one the shower gel broke when I tried to dispense it. It easily went back on, though. I appreciated the mini mouthwashes- not something you see all the time! On my second day, cleaning came by but did not replace the water I had drank, nor did they take the partially eaten bowl of fruit, or even take the grape stem out of the bowl. At other 5 star hotels, they give you a new “treat” each day of your stay and provide more water. I was (only) offered a (warm) can of water when someone came by for turndown. Only once throughout my 2-day stay was I greeted when I entered the hotel. I did go to the Fed bar one of the nights- drinks were good but again service was poor. When we were leaving, we were trying to flag down the busy bartender for at least 5 minutes, and only when the hostess hurriedly came up and asked if we were leaving did we actually get the bill to pay. Upon checkout, I stood at the counter for nearly 10 minutes waiting for a “formal” checkout to review the bill, turn in my key, Etc- I was not acknowledged at any point so I just gave up so that I wouldn’t be late for my flight out. This is a beautiful hotel with potential, but the service and care is clearly lacking. I find that this is often a symptom of management that does not treat their staff well, and does not show them the same respect and attention that the guests (should) expect to be treated with. This hotel is just fine, but I will definitely stay at a different hotel next time I’m in Boston.

Wonderful hotel - rooms are not just nice - they are beautiful and incredibly comfortable for working and for relaxing. Best part of hotel is the staff. Genuinely nice people who want your stay to be the best experience. Restaurants and quality of food are great too. Overall experience staying at the Langham is exceptional.

Staying at The Langham in Boston during the Christmas season was an absolutely magical experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a festive ambiance that made our holiday getaway truly unforgettable. The hotel is perfectly located for exploring Boston, with its iconic landmarks and holiday attractions just a short stroll away. The beautifully decorated interiors added a cozy, festive touch that set the tone for our stay. The service was outstanding—every team member, from the front desk to the concierge, went above and beyond to ensure we had a flawless experience. A special shout-out to the Host at The Fed, who accommodated us twice in one evening with such care and attention. It’s clear the staff are dedicated to delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. The rooms were immaculate and luxurious, and the attention to detail made us feel pampered throughout our stay. Whether you’re visiting Boston for the holidays or any time of year, The Langham is truly a gem that offers a blend of elegance, comfort, and impeccable service. We can’t wait to return and make more memories at this wonderful hotel. Highly recommend!
