Perfect place to stay but beware of the renovation

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

The hotel is the incredibly historic and in the center of everything. You ought to know that the hotel is in a renovation, so expect hammering and sawing to begin every workday at 6:30am. Not sure how long this will take but it was annoying. Would stay here again but if you’re a light sleeper you may want to wait until the renovation is complete.

Such a let down…..

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I usually wait till after a trip to write a review of a hotel, however as I’m laying here in bed at 6:45am, AGAIN for the third morning in a row awaken by hammering and power tools I thought as I’m not going to get anymore sleep I’d put something together now. Let’s go back to the start, even with the lobby construction work it’s an impressive entrance, we chose to stay here because of the history of the place, we knew the rooms probably wouldn’t reflect modern standards but that was part of the charm, it wasn’t just another soulless space. Yeah the rooms are smaller than you’d expect and although the furniture in our room was a bit old it was clean and functional and fitted in with the vibe of the hotel. Our room was clean, well decorated and every interaction with hotel staff has been friendly and welcoming as well as the location being undeniably great. We also, by chance, had the infamous Room 303, which as of writing, we’ve yet to experience any paranormal activity, unless what we’re experiencing is the lost soul of a construction worker that visits us at pre 7am…..I suspect any ghost has probably checked out for a while to get some peace and quiet. I understand that big hotels will go through periods of upgrade and the only way to achieve that is through noisy construction, this hotel unfortunately seems to have the attitude of “it is what it is, wait till it’s done it’ll be great!”……well I’m here now, paying good money now. Hotel management allowing loud construction work at pre 7am above rooms with guests present is a massive failing and shows little regard for their guests, I’m sure I’ll get the generic answer everyone else has had for mentioning this in a review, I’m sure it’ll be a lovely hotel for your future guests, however the poor management has lead to you losing this current guest. Such a let down.

What a disappointment!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We had reserved 3 rooms for an out of state family get together. This was the first time we stayed at the Omni Parker. What a disappointment - we had paid for early check in, so we could sit an enjoy being together and the ambience of the Lobby. NOT! there was construction in the lobby (thus we couldn’t sit and talk there!) and the noise and vibration from the construction could be heard in our rooms. The rooms were small, making it difficult to gather as a family. Then pounding started at 6:00 am as construction work began again. Not a good first impression. Probably won’t return.

Hotel is under construction

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The hotel is currently under construction with work beginning at 6:30am. I’ve had workers making noise with hammering despite the front desk telling me that no work was supposed to start until after nine. Renovations much needed as a room are dated and falling apart. I’m furious. They never disclosed the construction prior to arriving at the hotel. Additionally, I found out that the rate was $60 cheaper per night when I showed up to check in versus my original reservation. They refused to make adjustments despite the price difference in the condition of the hotel upon arrival. The $30 per night fee they attempt to charge, completely worthless because all the related “benefits “or either very basic or not available right now. I highly recommend staying elsewhere

Perfect spot with historical flair

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Although renovations were being completed while I was there, the service and staff were great, the location is excellent, the history and how they take care of it was very impressive as well. Convenient to so many sites, restaurants and pubs.
