Reviews for Taj Boston

Newbury Boston Hotel is my new favorite

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

This is my second time visiting Newbury Boston Hotel. From check in to departure , consistently nice, professional, helpful and efficient team. It was an excellent experience. In addition, the decor of the rooms , views , and restaurants are great, too. We will be back!

Back to the future. A classic gem repolished.

This is a great and elegant hotel. Back in its Ritz Carlton incarnation, my office was just around the corner, and it was a great place to meet friends and clients for drinks or meals. In its current incarnation as The Newbury, it has both caught up with the times and restored the classic look and service that people loved so much. My recent visit was a reunion with a childhood friend, and I booked a suite through American Express. I was delighted to get one of the 40 guest rooms with a working fireplace. A butler comes to build the fire for you. The fireplace is quite safe with double doors, both a screen and a glass front. Food and beverage prices are quite steep, though that is somewhat mitigated by the AMEX "fine hotels and resorts" program that includes a substantial food and beverage credit. The Newbury is in a great part of town. If shopping is your thing, Newbury Street is an upscale shopper's paradise. (As a rule, the higher the numbers on a Newbury Street address, the lower the prices.) The fancy designer stores are mostly in the first two blocks. The Back Bay residential neighborhood is as pretty as any city in this country and a wonderful place for a stroll.

A Perfect Stay!

We stayed at The Newbury for one night to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and everything was absolutely perfect! The hotel is immaculate, the rooms are spacious and quiet. We were lucky to have a Park View and it was beautiful at night as the trees were still lit up from Christmas. We received exceptional customer service from everyone we dealt with at The Newbury. Can't wait to go back!!

Outstanding stay at the Newberry

I would highly recommend the Newberry. We just returned from a mother/ daughter trip and everything about our stay was exceptional. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room including the bed and bedding were five star. We got to know the staff and by the time we left felt like we knew them as they were all so friendly. We can’t wait to come back!

Elegant accommodations

Excellent stay again at The Newbury. Came to Boston for girls trip to shop and visit friends. The Newbury is perfectly located to walk to shopping , restaurants and the Public Garden. The staff is always so friendly. Received upgrade at check in to fireplace suite and enjoyed a lovely fire one night. Staff provided hot water kettle for hot tea. Library had a variety of pastries every morning and water and sodas available all day. Afternoons featured snacks in the library. Rooms are spacious and impeccably clean.
