Spanning 3,500 acres of rolling hills and wooded forests, Chateau Elan reigns as North Georgia’s premier destination resort. A favorite for weekend getaways, corporate retreats, and everything in between, this sprawling property features stunning indoor and outdoor event spaces, multiple restaurants, professionally staffed golf and tennis clubs, a world-class spa, and more. From an authentic Irish pub to a Southern-style chophouse, guests of Chateau Elan will enjoy a global culinary tour guided by experienced chefs and sommeliers who share a passion for excellence. From humble beginnings, Chateau Elan Winery has emerged as one of the largest and most awarded wineries on the East Coast. We’re honored to offer more than 30 wines produced with grapes grown in our Braselton and south of Georgia vineyards, as well as grapes hand-picked and transported, whole cluster, in refrigerated trucks from California’s Lake County and Clarksburg regions. Our North Georgia winery is open daily for guided tours and tastings, as well as one-of-a-kind private events.

Our experience was erratic. The quality of the accommodations, especially the room and amenities, is exceptional. Our bed was comfy, the room was spacious but felt cozy. The bathroom was elegant and spotless. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly. In particular, the spa staff exceeded even other spa staff's warmth, friendliness, knowledgeability, and capability. But the food quality was lesser, especially compared among resorts and restaurants that Chateau Elan seeks to emulate. And the food service was, well, poor: inattentive, forgetful, and in the case of Louis' House of Bourbon, aloof (and difficult to find in the restaurant, like they disappeared or something). We ate at Louis and the Marc, and in both cases service was poor. This called our attention tothe already-high dining prices (like, how much do we tip here? was a question we asked ourselves at the end of the night, and as my spouse and I have worked in restaurants, we almost never ask that question) and made us pay particular attention to the hit-or-miss quality of the food we ordered. Seasonal salad at The Marc was tasty, fresh, crisp, and bright, the $14 mini-biscuits we also ordered cold and dry. And because both appetizers were served to us 30 minutes after we ordered them - after reminding our server we had not gotten them - the contrast is all we could focus on. There is one detail about the dining experience that to us typified the weirdness of our food experience. And, weirdly, it did so by inverting what I just described - poor quality of service highlighting spottiness of food quality - and in doing so actually amplifies the underlying message of the review. At The Marc, and The Spa, we were offered complimentary champagne. It was a nice amenity graciously offered by genuinely caring and helpful staff. In both situations, however, it was served tepid or warm, which makes champagne undrinkable to us. This is a winery, where the quality of their wine from production to service matters. Of course wine is going to flow everywhere. Why serve champagne that way? We are wondering if the staff actually knows to chill/refrigerate champagne and to serve it promptly once poured from a bottle, not handed out after being poured in a glass maybe a half-hour before it is served. To sum up, erratic.

Don’t stay at spa, our bathroom and the parts of facility were covered in mold and my wife and I left with Covid even though we had very little interaction with people. The staff was nice but when we complained about the mold they only gave us a small gift basket and no compensation. It’s also not nearly as luxurious as we were expecting for 1k per night.

Wine Tour was done with Trey! He has a great personality and was very knowledgeable! I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone thinking of doing it! I will surely be returning in the warmer months! Thanks Trey and Chateau Elan!

Place is amazing!! Beautiful amenities and the wine is extraordinary:). Will definitely be going back and recommend going for the wine tour and tasting. The restaurant is also outstanding and food is excellent. Overall experience is worthwhile if visit in Georgia

The positives: lovely property, friendly staff. Enjoyed a very good lunch at the spa and fun dinner in the pub. But the enormous dining and meeting area which takes up the lower level was a huge turn off. Very institutional looking. Wouldn’t even consider eating there. Our room tv didn’t work, hallways freezing cold. Expected better for $500. Won’t be coming back.
