BAD

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Was very ill whilst staying there with diarrhoea and vomiting , not much information from staff as to what could be the source , all I know is was fine until less than 24 hours of staying there . The room was so small looking on the unpleasant view on the back , could hardly move round in it , didn't help !!! Never again

Amazing stay at Brighton

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

The stay was great and the room was nice and big. The hospitality was great too with Minta helping me upgrade my room to an amazing room with a sea view. It all couldn't have been done without Minta who made the experience special. I will definitely come back!!!

Mixed stay - comfy bed and big room but huge queues at reception and no heating in our cold bathroom

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We did enjoy our stay and there was lots to like. However there were quite a few disappointments. There were far too few staff on reception. On arrival the queue was huge to check in, I’ve never seen anything like it! Waiting in a huge, slow moving queue after a long journey with a young child wasn’t great. Check out was a short queue, so we thought perhaps it had been a one off. We left our bags to enjoy Brighton. When we went back to collect them - there was only one person on reception and again a huge queue of people checking in! We actually missed our train home because we had to wait so long queuing to get our bags back. Extremely under staffed and they didn’t seem to pull more people on to reception when busy. Our room was very comfortable and a good size. However there was no radiator, towel heater or any form of heating in our bathroom. It was freezing in there! The bathroom looked beautiful but the lack of any heating really impacted me wanting to use it. I was also a bit disappointed, having requested a quiet room, to literally be able to see a huge thing of pipes and electricial equipment in the see through panel in our ceiling. They whirled and made noise the entire stay. We mainly booked the hotel because it had a swimming pool. Whilst we did have a swim, the water was colder than we expected, and the pool extremely busy. There were a lot of young men playing catch with a full water bottle in the pool, which made my 5 year old nervous she would get hit. It was pretty impossible to swim with far too many people in there. I tried to go in the sauna but it was too full to get a spot in there. On the plus side, the bed was comfy, breakfast was nice and the general building and atmosphere was nice. Not a bad stay, we had a nice time, but it didn’t feel up to the price or 4 star rating. I’d stayed here as a child and it wasn’t as good as I remembered. I’ll try somewhere else next time.

Awful stay! I expected much better for the price.

Checked in, room was comfortable although very small. There was toothpaste in the bath tub so not clean. Up all night due to paper thin walls and our neighbours being unbelievably loud from midnight to 6am. When reported upon check out, receptionist didn’t care. Followed up with an email since it was almost £200 for a night and we were up every hour. No offer of compensation or any attempt to resolve the horrendous stay. Not to mention, they overcharged us for drinks and a half an hour wait to get them. I will never stay here again and will not recommend to anyone , ever. Find somewhere else to stay with your money! Especially if it’s for a treat, the grand is next door and is much better.

Nice relaxing visit

Had a lovely weekend at the Metropole at the beginning of Feb. We were here to celebrate a birthday. This was a repeat trip and everything was to the standard expected in a Hilton. Omar checked us in and was very helpful and answered all our queries. He was very friendly and made extra time to ensure he had given us all the information we needed. The hotel is grand with a lovely reception area. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a beautiful sea view room with balcony. It was huge with floor to ceiling windows leading to an open balcony with a view of the beach right in front. It was very nice. The room had a sofa bed and a huge king sized bed which we had the most amazing sleep. I wanted to sleep all day 😝. The room was immaculate and spotless with a nice big bathroom, lots of storage and a powerful shower. The room had a separate hallway. Towels soft and fluffy with slippers and bathrobe. There was a good hairdryer and all the usual mod cons. Plenty of tea and coffee was availble as required. The room had excellent heating and on cold days this is exactly what you need. The housekeeper was lovely and bought us some extra toiletries on request. Very friendly lady. The hotels gym is adequate and so are the leisure facilities. The pool was nice and big enough for a good swim. The hotel itself is situated on the main road a very short walk way from the lanes. The hotel has parking which they offer at a reduced rate for guests. Breakfast as always was amazing with a separate vegetarian section which was lovely. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast gets busy between 10.30-11. Which is understandable, so if you want a less rushed breakfast come early as there is so much to eat. Overall a fab trip once again to Brighton Metropole. Looking forward to our next visit. Thank you everyone.
