I am honestly shocked by the lack of professionalism and customer service at this hotel. We booked a couple’s spa treatment in advance and received confirmation. We planned our entire day around it, even canceling a boat trip with friends to be there on time. When we arrived, we were told there was no record of our reservation, and there was no possibility to reschedule. No apology, no compensation, no responsibility taken. Had we missed the appointment, we would have been charged in full — yet the hotel simply “forgot” and didn’t care. This is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one that claims to be 5 stars. We respected the schedule — the hotel did not. The worst part? no one has even tried to make it right. Absolutely disgraceful service. I expected much better from a hotel of this standard and from this chain. Never again.

We had an issue with our aircondition in our room. When we reported this to Jelena, Guest Relations Manager, she immediately upgraded us to a Premium Delux room & sent us a nice bottle of white wine. Her help well appreciated. Breakfast service in the ES Bistro very attentive & helpful. In particular thanks to Dominic & Agi for looking after us. The hotel is centrally located so one can walk to most sightseeing places. Finally thanks to Jelena for making our stay enjoyable & unforgettable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone interested coming to Budapest

The location of the hotel is excellent, just in the middle of everything. The rooms are very clean, quiet (at least on higher floors) and the large beds are very confy. Based on these, I would propably rate this property to 5*, BUT because of the extremely unpleasant and completely unacceptable behavior at Breakfast, I cannot give more than 2*. You just cannot treat customers like this: The breakfast costs 13800 HUF (34 EUR) at the "ES" restaurant - but the team at the hotel will try to cheat you into having the "low-cost alternative" to the same price. First morning, we went to "ES" restaurant to have a buffet breakfast. The restaurant was supposedly "full" and we were offered another alternative. We were a group of 4 and we said we could easily have two separate tables (as there were plenty free, you could see it). Surprisingly, after a discussion, there was a lot of space even for a group of 4. So the story was not true. Second morning, we were guided immediately to the alternative restaurant, as "ES" was "full" again. We asked the staff member twice, if the breakfast was really exactly the same as at "ES". Yes, the lady told with full certainty: "It is the same". It was not. The breakfast was decent (what you would get at a Park Inn or Mercure at any random international airport) but absolutely not similar as promised: -Nespresso instead of real barista coffee. -Tea bags instead of brewed tea -Poor selection of fruit, bread & pastries. -No dim sum and other hot delicacies. -No chef preparing eggs and omelettes. As said, completely different, lower quality, poor selection - BUT the same price. So the Staff member lied to us. I raised the issue and the Duty Manager arrived. Suddenly, we were just moved to the "ES" restaurant, where there was a lot of empty tables (!) and really just some other guests. We did get an apology and a refund but it doesn't answer to the real issue: Why does a 5* property like Kempinski have this kind of policy - two completely different levels of breakfast to the same price ? Why does the Staff lie to customers - and try to force them take the low-end for full price ? Whatever the reason, be aware of this "Breakfast Hoax" at Corvinus - if they try to lure you to the other restaurant under false pretense, don't accept. Third morning, we had breakfast at a great café just a block away at Szervita tér. For me, this was definitely the last time at any Kempinski ever.

The hotel overall was really lovely, it's had a recent refurbishment and it's been very stylishly done. The bedroom was comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was exceptional - it was a buffet with a wide choice. The staff were lovely and helpful & each of the concierges recommended consistently lovely restaurants - I'd like to especially note the following - Dominic in ES restaurant. The girls in The Living Room, especially Johanna & last but by no means least - Yelena in Guest Services for helping find my phone and for just being an overall lovely person.

Really enjoyed staying here. The room was very nice and was in very good condition. Staff serving breakfast each morning were very good. They were very helpful. We never went into the Blue Fox bar we had planned to but never looked to have much atmosphere at the times we passed. Concierge were very helpful when arriving but we were totally ignored by the gentleman stood outside doing nothing as we left. Did not help with luggage or say good bye. I would still consider staying here again if in Budapest again.
