Reviews for MaMaison Andrassy Hotel

Lovely hotel with fantastic restaurant

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Exceptional hotel. We went with BA holidays and got an excellent price for 2 nights. The hotel is spotlessly clean. Foyer is very impressive and the restaurant first class. In fact we ate in the restaurant both nights and would have struggled to find anywhere better. Breakfast was also excellent. All the staff were really friendly and accommodating. I would thoroughly recommend and would definitely go back to this hotel. 2 minutes walk from the metro and located in a very nice area. Metro takes about 10 minutes to get into the downtown area of the city. Buy the 72 hour metro card for around £12 which also covers buses and trams. If you need a kettle take your own tea bags and reception will willingly supply one for you

Bad service, really dissapointed

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

I’m very surprised that even tho Budapest is gaining a lot of respect and attention of the world of tourism, they yet fail to give good cuatomer service to the people that come here and appreciate their beautiful country. Hotels (like this one) , restaurants, tours, markets… ma y places have staff who make rude faces to the tourists, they try to treat you like youre dumb because you dont know the language, or they tell jokes between them about the tourists. I was here for 3 nights, last week

Excellent find, lovely staff

We got an amazing deal on this hotel for three nights- when we arrived we had been upgraded from a junior suite to an ambassador suite. Whilst the hotel may not be much to look at from the outside, and the room decor is a little dated, the bar/restaurant have been nicely decorated and the suite was a really good size with separate living area. The staff throughout our stay have been amazing and for us the location was great- about 7 minutes from Heroes square and around 30 mins walk from the river.

Quiet and comfotable with excellent breakfast

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

This was part of a BA flight + hotel trip, so we were paying very little. Also a quiet time of year, so hotel not at all busy. This is factored in to my review rating and comments. Very quiet and the deluxe rooms are very spacious with large bathroom and large deep bathtub. Comfy and large bed. Breakfast plentiful with good range. We did not ask, but I suspect eggs can be cooked to order at quiet times, but the scrambled eggs and hardbolied were more than fine. Range of cold cuts and cheeses. Yoghurt, muesli, salad ingredients. Front reception staff efficient and friendly. Nice location, this is an upscale area. close to City Park and Szechenyi bath. M1 Metro nearby as well as a useful bus route into town and beyond. We did experience some of the "first world" issues mentioned in other reviews but for the deal we had, cannot really complain. I asked for a move from our first room (308) as I heard some kind of humming noise from 6am (woke me up) but Agatha quickly arranged for us to be moved and the FoH manager checked next day that all was ok. So for awareness - shower does easily splash water on floor - in the first room, the hose faced outside until I twisted it behind the rail; balcony door cannot (I think) be opened from outside; our towel rail in the second room was stuck on hot (not a problem in January); not all TV channels available; no face towels and default of one bathtowel (but no problem getting another one); no kettle (but I just filled up coffee machine with water.

A lovely base to explore Budapest.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 months ago

We had a large, well appointed room on the fourth floor with a balcony. There was only a coffee machine but we asked for a kettle and one was delivered. The bed was extremely comfortable. Given how cold it was in Budapest I was impressed how cosy the room was, it felt like a haven to come back to after sightseeing. We ate at the hotel both nights, the food was delicious and the service exceptional. Breakfast offered variety and again, service was excellent, plates cleared and the buffet constantly restocked. We loved the area, just far enough outside the busy parts to be peaceful but a 5 minute bus/metro ride to either szechenyi baths or the main part of town.

Great location along Budapest's most elegant street...very helpful and efficient staff, nice spacious rooms and great breakfast. What more to ask for? Highly recommended!

I have never felt so welcome at any hotel that I have stayed in. The staff was brilliant and always remembered your name. Nice spacious rooms - other establishments should base their service on this hotel!

My friend and I combined two packages for a great trip in September. The Andrassy exceeded my expectations in a big way. It was fabulously located, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the rooms were just beautiful. All the extras that were included really sent us over the top! A half-day private city tour, dinner at the hotel restaurant, ballet tickets, a Budapest card for free subway and bus rides, a bottle of champagne and a beautiful book to top it all off! I absolutely cannot say enough great things...

We loved the kindness and friendly attitude given us at the Hotel Andrassy in Budapest this spring. We cannot remember a more personalized and genuinely respectful house.

The staff is genuinely eager to please and to help. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very nicely appointed. Breakfast and dinner at the Baraka Restaurant were excellent. The Andrassy Hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, but is close to the Hero Square and The Museum of Fine Arts, the Hungarian National Gallery, the Kogart House and the Opera. There is a Metro just a few feet away that will take you into the center of Budapest and to the River Danube. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel - we had a wonderful stay.
