We had an excellent 7-day stay as a result of our participation in a Road Scholar tour. Anetta Franiscy-Horvath (reservations) Petra and Mark (front desk) were attentive and helpful above and beyond in addressing our special concerns and provided us a wonderful stay we shall never forget. Mamaison Hotel Andrassy is an excellent choice in a convenient location near Hero's Square and the city metro. The morning breakfast buffet offered a good variety to address just about every guest's tastes with plenty of comfortable seating. Rooms are clean, quiet and well-maintained. The only concern worthy of mentioning is that it is a large building and when we were there the WI-FI strength seemed to be a bit spotty for upper-floor rooms at the end of the building. So, you might want to check the strength of signal before accepting an end room. I believe this was a known issue when we were there, and it may already have been addressed. If looking for a well-appointed and convenient 4-star hotel in Budapest, Mamaison Hotel Andrassy and its excellent staff would be a good choice.

Situated on Andrássy Avenue this is a short walk from a Main Street filled with bars and restaurants as well as being 15 minutes away from the famous Széchenyi baths (in the other direction). Each day we had to put a sign on the door ticking boxes that indicated what we wanted cleaned or replenished e.g., shampoo and conditioner. Once we even left the room after 12pm and our wishes were still fulfilled. The reception staff were very helpful as well. We requested extra towels to take with us to the baths and the receptionist ran upstairs to retrieve three for us which was kind. The room was large and spacious boasting 2 armchairs and a desk chair. The bathroom had plenty of counter space and the room had enough mirrors for three girls to get ready at the same time. The safe was free to use. Laundry services were offered at an extra cost but we didn’t use this. We couldn’t figure out how tot turn on the light on the balcony but I’m sure if we cared enough to ask reception they would have helped us with this issue. The downside was that the third bed was much less comfortable than the other two and sometimes the additional furniture would make the room feel cramped. All round great value for money hotel!

Despite having requested a twin room on 3 occasions, once when I booked the hotel and on 2 other occasions closer to the time of departure after I was advised to do so, we were still put into a double room as they said they were full. Bearing in mind we booked this in January and we went in September then clearly they messed up. The hotel is meant to be 4 star but I struggle to see how it can be and would only give it 3 stars at best. The towels were thin, looked very grey and smelt foul. I think they had been put away damp. We found the staff to be quite curt and not very helpful with the exception of one night time member of staff behind the front desk. The bed was comfortable but being a double was not ideal when sharing with a friend. It was clean although the bathroom smelt of drains and the shower was over the bath and did not drain very well so by the end of it you were ankle high in soapy water.

We stayed in Mamaison Andrássy Gardens for a week. It’s on the beautiful leafy wide Andrássy boulevard that ends at Hero’s Square. It’s in walking distance to the Square & its museums, the City Park & Szechenyi Spa. The hotel is clean & bright. We had booked a classic bedroom. These were facing the back of the hotel and it was small - single file around the bed small. The first room assigned to us was on the second floor and we were looking into a very full skip. Although the manager pointed out they were not known for their views he did move us to the fourth floor. Same room but higher up allowing in more light and facing the trees. The room had a double bed which took up most of the space, a tv, coffee machine and everything you needed. There was one chair at the dressing table. The room size did not affect our enjoyment as we were out all day and again in the evening. The room was serviced every 3 days but you could leave out a card if you needed towels/bins emptied/ supplies. The public areas were comfortable & tastefully decorated and it had a lovely terrace/ garden restaurant where you could order Hungarian food or have a drink when you returned from sightseeing. The staff were so friendly & helpful. The night receptionist arranged our tickets for the Szechenyi Spa and again was very helpful when we checked out early in the morning.

The room was very comfortable with all the amenities one would expect. Good access to tourist sites. Breakfast amazing with plenty of choice. But the service provided by the manager, Mark was exceptional. He is an outstanding manager and an example of how to run a hotel catering for the needs of the guests perfectly. Highly recommended.

I have never felt so welcome at any hotel that I have stayed in. The staff was brilliant and always remembered your name. Nice spacious rooms - other establishments should base their service on this hotel!

My friend and I combined two packages for a great trip in September. The Andrassy exceeded my expectations in a big way. It was fabulously located, the staff was warm and welcoming, and the rooms were just beautiful. All the extras that were included really sent us over the top! A half-day private city tour, dinner at the hotel restaurant, ballet tickets, a Budapest card for free subway and bus rides, a bottle of champagne and a beautiful book to top it all off! I absolutely cannot say enough great things...

We loved the kindness and friendly attitude given us at the Hotel Andrassy in Budapest this spring. We cannot remember a more personalized and genuinely respectful house.

The staff is genuinely eager to please and to help. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very nicely appointed. Breakfast and dinner at the Baraka Restaurant were excellent. The Andrassy Hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, but is close to the Hero Square and The Museum of Fine Arts, the Hungarian National Gallery, the Kogart House and the Opera. There is a Metro just a few feet away that will take you into the center of Budapest and to the River Danube. I have no hesitation recommending this hotel - we had a wonderful stay.
