Stayed here for two nights during a AMA Waterways river cruise ship swap transfer. We upgraded to a suite with a beautiful view of the parliament domes and the rest of the City. This was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in and the service was also top notch. It was worth every penny.

This is a very nice hotel. It is used by a number of cruise lines, including Tauck and AMA Waterways. Expect to encounter Americans. The room was lovely and well appointed. AC worked wonderfully (it was 98-102F during my stay) and the staff went out of its way to accommodate, helped with bags, taxis and was quite friendly and welcoming--as expected for a property like this. Spa and pool area very nice as well; small but very clean and relaxing. The bar is smallish, which means a quieter experience compared to some comparables that have big noisy cafes or bars. Location is terrific for walking around and catching the city's excellent trams and trains. On checkin there was a slight snafu with my room; management stepped in without my saying anything and provided a slightly larger accommodation. I would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous hotel, in a prime location, with a beautiful spa and fine service! It was my birthday & the best gift was an upgrade with a view of the basilica & ferris wheel! I truly truly had a luxurious experience at this hotel. Mr. Habtoor is brilliant!

Great location and core staff, service teams need work. The reception team here was the highlight of our stay. Warm, welcoming, and truly helpful from check-in on. When our travel plans changed at the last minute, the concierge, Aron arranged transportation for us all the way from Budapest to Split, Croatia. Above and beyond what we expected from hotel staff he was amazing. The room was clean and the bathroom was well appointed when we arrived. We had a lovely view overlooking Deák tér, and the room got great natural light from multiple windows on almost every side. Keep in mind a room facing the main square will be louder in the hustle and bustle of the city nights. A few things kept this from being a five-star stay. On our second day, housekeeping never came, we didn't realize until we got back to the room around 6 p.m. and found it untouched. Having travelled extensively around the world staying in a five star hotels this is a never event and a major signal that there is a breakdown in service structure and communication. Breakfast was also inconsistent: one morning the staff seemed to forget we'd already been seated, there were no utensils on the table, and nobody came by to offer coffee or juice until we asked. When coffee did arrive, it came without sugar or a spoon. We had breakfast included through our Amex benefit, so no complaints there, but the buffet itself was thin compared to what you'd get at a Four Seasons or similar five-star property. More than once we had to ask for basics like honey or cream to be refilled. Still, the location can't be beat. You're within easy reach of everything in the city, and that alone makes this hotel worth a look for your next Budapest trip.

Le Meridien, Budapest, which included a dinner and certain other amenities, was an outstanding experience. The suite was very large, comfortable and quiet - everything we could have asked for. The dinner was "no holds barred" including, to my great surprise, an excellent bottle of wine. All in all, the experience was absolutely first-rate.
