Great location, short walking distance to shops and restaurants. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Room was clean and had the basic amenities. Appreciated the complimentary breakfast, which had a nice variety of continental and hot items also. Water pressure in the shower could be improved. Otherwise a wonderful stay!

This is a great boutique hotel in Palermo. We thought the location was great. We felt completely safe walking from here through Palermo at all times. There are lots of police personnel walking in Palermo. I am not sure if it precautionary, nonetheless my daughter and I felt safe. Breakfast is included and the buffet has everything you could want, fruits, cereal, pastries, juice and bread for toast. They make eggs to order and I had poached every day. They will offer bacon as well. Lucia was especially sweet and friendly. Our room was very comfortable, aesthetically pleasing and clean. We had booked one night and were planning on checking out for a two day trip to the Falls and check back in for three more nights. After travelling all evening from Rio I asked the manager if the room was free could I book it . Luckily it was and it was so much easier to unpack and leave our things there and just take a backpack to the falls. The manager on duty can change money for you too! Make sure you bring crisp $100 bills from the US. I booked a massage and the price was reasonable, the therapist very skilled. I really needed it after the previous, hectic previous 10 days. One of the night managers also booked a Tango dinner show for us at Cafe Angelitos, he said out of all of them, the meal was the best and the show was fantastic. Shout out to Bruno, one of the managers. He was very kind and helped us alot. They were all very nice, but I do remember Lucia and Bruno the most. I would definitely recommend 1828 Smart Hotel in BA.

We spent two nights in the hotel and were pleased with our choice. The breakfast and afternoon snacks were decent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good English spoke too. The room was a decent size and clean and tidy. The bed was huge and comfortable too. Would definitely recommend to anyone for a trip to BA

I've thought a lot about our experience and this review. We stayed 5 nights (4 and 1) and we had a good experience. This is an expensive property and I didn't feel the price matched the product. Breakfast - good selection of cold items, toast, you can order freshly prepared eggs if you wish. The menu says there's a surcharge for cappuccino etc., why? Eating area is very small and it was busy on a few mornings. They have complimentary snacks late afternoon (not fancy), we had a welcome glass of wine on day of arrival and on other days you can buy a drink. There's a small outdoor pool and patio and guests did use it. Room is small for the price - we were on a 3 week trip, we could only have 1 suitcase left open. The bed was comfortable. Bathroom was spacious. Towels were ok. They don't provide kleenex/tissues. Our room on the first floor was in better condition than the one we had on the second floor which needed some TLC regarding paint and the drapes were dirty (or stained). The room facing the pool was more quiet than the one facing the street but the noise level was fine in both rooms. When I read the reviews I expected luxury ... you're basically on your own with bags (one afternoon we saw 2 ladies checking in asking about this), we used the stairs and some areas really need to be cleaned or painted, the front door is always locked and one evening we waited at least 5 minutes to be buzzed in (hubby was checking his watch).
