The building is stunning but the service is poor, especially considering the price. Plenty of staff wandering aimlessly around the reception area but not enough cleaning staff to have our room ready by the time we arrived at 1:30pm, after a 16 hour flight. We asked if the hotel could at least let us use another room to shower and change after our long flight – a firm 'no' from the hotel. We had to drag our bags to the spa area so that we could shower, then unpack our bags in the changing rooms, then re-pack them afterwards. Breakfast was poor. Again a beautiful room but only a buffet? In a £250 per night hotel I would expect waiter service at breakfast, with a menu and freshly cooked food, but no. Not only that, we had to scramble to get a table – literally race other guests to get a table which had been laid. Lots of empty tables but none laid or cleared and not enough breakfast staff to do this by a long way. The staff were supposed to serve juice and coffee - they insisted they should do this (not exactly demanding) but a number of times we gave up waiting even to get juice and had to go and get it ourselves. The buffet was OK but the scrambled eggs (the only egg choice) were cold or hard/over-cooked. They needed probably a half-dozen more staff at breakfast and should have offered freshly cooked food. Went to the roof-top bar to have cocktails – great views over the city. We told the waiter we only had half an hour so they needed to come quickly. 25 minutes later and still no drinks.. chased the staff again, they finally brought the drinks and we had to gulp them down and go. Not a great experience. The exceptions to the 'beautiful hotel' were the spa and pool facilities – awful stainless tubs that would be good for washing animals. Sure, cheap, but really in this hotel?? Or frankly any hotel – the worst I have seen, by some way. And 'spa' only had 4 loungers and 2 really high double bunk-beds (hard to get into) – and this for an expensive a hotel of hundreds of guests? And IIRC a total of 2 loungers by the pool. Overall it seems that the hotel is saving money by not having enough staff where they really need them (cleaning, breakfast, bar). Maybe that is not the case but every time we needed service that seemed to be the case (apart from Reception).

This hotel was one of the highlights of my stay in Buenos Aires. The location is perfect and there are great small local restaurants nearby. But I must say the service, food, and drinks in the Lobby Bar really made it easy to just stay in and relax after a day of walking around the area. The staff was incredible and always happy to make sure everything you need is provided. The spa facilities are great. I did not have any services but enjoyed relaxing in the pool and spa at the end of the day. My room was very comfortable with a great amount of space. I hope I have a chance to return to this beautiful city again soon.

We had a large, excellent room in a grand, old style hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful . Location was very good with a number of restaurants and sites in walking distance. Not sure about value as we booked it through a tour but hotel was top notch all the way.
